Dahrian Zamora received a phone call on October 14, 2025, that no parent ever wants to answer. Child Protective Services told him his 3-year-old son, Dawson Zamora, had significant injuries and that he could visit him at Medical Center McKinney in McKinney, Texas. When Zamora arrived, he realized the severity of the brutal attack his young son had endured. Weeks later, Zamora shared an update on Dawson and those allegedly responsible for his injuries.
Zamora spoke to Fox 12 in late October about his son’s alleged abuse. The dad shares Dawson with his ex-wife, Chelsea Berg. Police arrested Berg’s boyfriend, Christopher Alexander, and charged him with injuring Dawson.
“He was beaten so bad that he was beaten to death, and that’s public knowledge of what I’ve already said,” Zamora told the outlet. “He did beat my son to death, that he did kill him. When he got to the lobby of Medical Center McKinney, he was already dead.”
Police also arrested Berg, who faces a charge of injury to a child by omission. She posted a $100,000 bond and was released the same day.
Zamora told Fox 12 he would have to battle the courts to protect his son. “It’s getting nasty, and that’s the part of good versus evil,” he said. “Like what’s humane and what’s not. What’s in the best interest of my son? How would we feel as an individual if we were in his situation? What would we want for ourselves? What would we want for our children?”
In a recent Facebook post, he shared an update on his legal battle.
“I have had to acquire an attorney and go to war against Chelsea when it comes to decision making, custody, life and death decisions and all other decision making,” he wrote in the post. “I’m here today to finally break the news that I have been granted sole conservatorship, sole custody, sole decision maker, and sole decision maker over life and death. Chelsea has no say so or power in anything with my kids.”
He also gave a heartbreaking update on Dawson, who’s been in the hospital for more than 50 days. Sadly, he’s not improving.
“CT scans and MRI scans still show this to be true with no improvement and he will now be in a vegetative state,” the heartbroken father wrote. “My Son Dawson is not ‘Dawson’ anymore. These monsters took him from me. Took him from my family, Took him from y’all; the public and Chelsea failed to protect him.”
Zamora shared a message of thanks to those who’ve provided prayers, love, and financial support during this devastating time. He feels the love and is incredibly grateful.
“I have fallen over and over but continue to be lifted up more. We are so powerful as we stand together and I wish I could thank all of you individually but from the grace of GOD we have come to be so massive,” he wrote.
Loved ones created a GoFundMe account that’s raised more than $50,000 thus far.
What happened to this child is nothing short of evil. May the good in this world win the battle.
