A Teen Boy Is Dead & Another Arrested After ‘Disturbance’ On the Beach That Was Caught on Video

The lives of two Scottish families have been altered forever after a disturbance between two teenage boys took place on a beach. One of the boys was arrested and another lost his life in the altercation. While police are still investigating what transpired that day, they are turning to community members for help.

Officers believe that people on the beach that day not only witnessed the confrontation between the two teens, but captured it on video. Police are asking bystanders to review their footage to determine exactly what happened.

On May 17, officers responded to reports of a “disturbance” on Irvine Beach in Ayrshire, the Independent reported. When they arrived, around 6:45 p.m., officers found 16-year-old Kayden Moy seriously injured. Medical professionals rushed Kayden to the hospital. Sadly, the teen from East Kilbride succumbed to his injuries and died hours later.

The following day, officers arrested a 17-year-old in connection with Kayden’s death, Sky News reported. Still, their investigation continues. “An extensive investigation is under way to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death,” Detective Chief Inspector Campbell Jackson said. “From our investigation so far, we know there were a number of people on the beach around the time of the disturbance. We believe several of them were filming at the time and may have footage of what happened.”

Police ask anyone with recordings of the incident to come forward if they think their videos could be of use. They informed community members that they’ve set up a website where they can submit any relevant footage, the Independent reported. Users can upload the submissions anonymously.

In the meantime, police say they are supporting the family during this “very difficult and heartbreaking time.” In the days since his son’s death, Kayden’s father, Paul Moy, has written a brief tribute to his child on social media. “My first born son my big boy my best friend my main man my everything rest easy my boy,” he wrote with a series of pictures on Facebook.
