A Gym Bully Flexed on the Wrong Woman After Shaming Her for Working Out Near Him

There is no place in adult gyms for bullies who try to target patrons they see as weak or less important than them. Technically, there is no place for bullies in any gym, but you’d think adults would have the decency to understand that better than children. In a TikTok that a user named Markie posted, a man says that he doesn’t want to workout next to what he calls a “fat” woman. Markie catches the end of the woman’s response to him, which is said with a shaky voice.

She tells the unnamed man that she wasn’t looking at him or checking him out. It sounds like the man thought she was interested in him, and that’s when he went off on her. Later in the video, other gym goers, including Markie, confront the man to stick up for the woman. Markie wrote in the caption of his TikTok, “It’s 2026, everybody trying to better themselves. Weirdos like this won’t be tolerated.”

The woman in the video can be heard in the background telling someone else that the man said he “doesn’t want fat people next to him.” When someone asks the man what he said, he doesn’t deny it. In fact, he doubles down on the “fat people” comment the woman said he made. At one point, Markie and other men in the gym approach the man to talk to him about his hurtful words.

Markie repeatedly calls the man a “weirdo” for bullying the woman. The man continues to work out with weights but also defends his comments, and it’s such a mess. In the comments under the TikTok, no one was here for the gym bullying that was seemingly unprovoked. Most stuck up for the woman themselves, especially because some noted her “shaky voice” when she stuck up for herself with the man who threw the hateful words at her.

“Making fun of big people for being in the gym is like making fun of an addict for going to rehab,” one person commented.

Others pointed out that when the man was confronted by the other men in the gym, he spoke in a lower, more respectful voice. When he speaks to the woman earlier in the video, he uses a much louder and ruder voice. Then there are the overwhelming inconsistencies of people who are quick to criticize the weight of others.

There really is a never-ending cycle of bullying where the bullies themselves don’t even know what they want out of people who they feel the need to single out. They might criticize someone’s weight and rudely tell them to “Go to the gym.” Then, when someone does head to the gym to work on getting healthy, they are ridiculed regardless. In the eyes of the bully, what’s the right move?

“Shout out to y’all because if that was me I would’ve canceled my membership and never went into a gym again I can’t lie,” someone commented on the TikTok. “That must’ve hurt her feelings so bad ‘cuz at least she’s trying.”
