New Jersey mom Patrice Pisani saved herself and her two young sons from what could have been a fatal accident. Pisani went to pick up her boys from Bloom Academy in Freehold on February 13, 2026, and as the three headed out the door for Valentine’s Day weekend, an alleged drunk driver careened toward them. The school’s surveillance system picked up the terrifying encounter. Miraculously, Pisani and her boys survived. Police arrested the driver, 68-year-old Angela Arrigo, who faces multiple charges.
Freehold Township Police Captain Joseph Winowski told the Freehold, New Jersey, Patch that officers responded to a call at Bloom Academy for a pedestrian struck just after 3 p.m. Surveillance from the scene obtained by News 12 shows a gray SUV speeding toward the building just as Pisani and her boys leave. The mom grabs one boy, and the other, thankfully, reacted and runs toward his mom. All three survived.
The heart-stopping video shows just how close Arrigo was to killing three people. Pisani told News 12 her son had a leg injury and burns from the vehicle’s undercarriage. Otherwise, they are all fine. It’s unclear if Arrigo injured herself in the crash. Police arrested her at the scene, and she faces charges of driving while intoxicated and endangering the welfare of a child, Patch reported.
“We are deeply saddened by this incident. While we are grateful that the injury was not more severe, we remain committed to the safety and well-being of our students, families, and staff,” Jill Howard, Bloom Academy owner, shared with News 12.
The video shocked viewers, who sounded off in the comments on Instagram.
“So sad.. the look of terror on the babies face,” one person wrote. “Thank you GOD for protecting them all.”
“My heart sank,” someone else agreed. “Thank you GOD for protecting them.”
Other commenters think Arrigo should face more charges.
“Omg! Thank god they got out of the way. That should be attempted murder, how disgusting!” a follower added.
The power of a mom’s love is strong, and Pisani proved that. What a hero she is.
