What to Know
What is it with tourists and taking photos or videos next to the British King’s Guard? Is it really just about getting as much attention as possible, because it sort of seems that way, to be honest. A TikTok influencer by the name of Elizabeth posted a video where she eats right near the Royal Guard while on a trip to England.
She goes from jokingly taunting one of the members of the guard with threats of tickling him to plopping down on the ground and eating a full English breakfast in front of a guard and his horse. It’s less quirky and more annoying and disrespectful and she even refuses to leave when she’s asked to. Elizabeth is the definition of doing far too much.
People called her out for being disrespectful to the King’s Guard.

At the start of the video, Elizabeth notes that she is “going to be removed” from the area. There’s also a shot of a guard seemingly telling her she needs to leave, or step back, if she’s there to eat her lunch. But, she says, she’s hungry. So she proceeds to sit directly outside of a squared off area where people are not permitted to pass through. She pops a squat and films herself eating, all while a guard is behind her on his horse.
“You’re being highly disrespectful, not to mention inconsiderate,” someone commented. “They aren’t there for show. They’re actively serving and doing a job and get rotated on deployments.”
Another person wrote, “They told you not to sit there, so don’t sit there. This is awful actually.”
Elizabeth also taints a guard by saying she feels like tickling someone. To be clear, people are legally not allowed to touch the guard or their horse. Teasing and taunting may not be illegal, but they are certainly in bad taste.
“This is my first impression of you and it’s not good,” a TikTok user also said in the comments.
“Regardless of whether anyone thinks this is a big deal or not, people tryna do their job asked you to stop [and] to just ignore/make a mockery out of that is really just kinda…meh…not nice I guess,” another critic wrote.
Someone also pointed out that the King’s Guard isn’t there just for show. The guards are there to do a legitimate job. They also have horses which should not be spooked out of the safety of everyone around. It’s embarrassing for Americans, really, to have people like Elizabeth there, taunting them.
“You were asked not to sit there,” someone reminded Elizabeth in the comments. “Have a bit of respect.”
She also shares her commentary on an English breakfast.

There are some people behind Elizabeth as she films herself, but they appear to be a greater distance away from the guards. They also aren’t showing blatant disrespect for locals, through disobeying the rules and also talking loudly about their food. Elizabeth sits on the ground eating an entire English breakfast, complete with sausage, potatoes, beans, and other items. And she has something brutally honest to say about each food she eats.
As Elizabeth bites into a potato she dipped in her beans, she says she has to swallow numerous times to get it down. She turns back to the guard on his horse at one point and says she’s jealous of her. And when she eats tomatoes from her plate, she loudly says, “We’ve got tomatoes” in a fake British accent.
“There is a difference between quirky and annoying,” a commenter wrote under the video. “This one is annoying.”
Someone else commented, “You cannot make ‘any spot a picnic spot.'”
She lost some followers because of the video.

Because of her behavior, some of Elizabeth’s apparent followers commented that they unfollowed her. Some of Elizabeth’s other videos show similar antics during her trip to England. So the whole taunting of the King’s Guard thing is sort of on brand for her and not totally surprising. But this might have been just a step too far, because some of her now former followers are disappointed.
