Jessie Lee Kittelson gave birth to her son, Stetson William Olson, on February 19, 2026. Less than a month later, her newborn baby tragically passed away. Kittelson and her boyfriend, Taylor Olson, claimed the baby passed away from natural causes, but an investigation showed that wasn’t the case at all.
An autopsy found methamphetamines in Stetson’s system, which reportedly led to a shocking confession from his 23-year-old mother. Police arrested Kittelson and Olson, who now face decades in prison.
Kittelson and Olson seemed excited about having a baby.
Kittelson announced her pregnancy in October 2025, in a since-deleted Facebook post.
“April 1st, 2026, we go from fur parents to human parents! current family count: 14,” Kittelson wrote alongside a lengthy post about her animals. “currently 16 weeks, baby is healthy as can be, 52nd percentile for size (weighed exactly 4 oz at 15 week appointment), heart rate 143, my symptoms have been very intense so far but nothing serious enough to worry about, the fatigue and pregnancy brain have been going hard!”
“we have decided we will not be disclosing gender or name of baby until i give birth! we would like to keep these things private and intimate to keep the experience special for our little(ish) family!” Kittelson added.
Kittelson gave birth on February 19, 2026.
Stetson’s parents found him unresponsive less than a month later.
According to court documents obtained by WEAU, first responders arrived at the family’s residence in Trimbelle, Wisconsin following the report of an unresponsive baby. The complaint stated Stetson was not breathing and his skin appeared bluish.
He allegedly had a dark colored substance around his mouth and nose. Paramedics did their best but could not revive the infant. Stetson passed away on March 14. His mother took to social media to share the news.
“i can’t put to words how absolutely devastated myself and taylor are. i keep thinking about how he wasn’t due til april 1st and he should still be in my belly. i would give anything to be able to hold my lil man again, to watch him grow, to even change his clothes again because he peed on them for the 3rd time in one day. we miss him so much already,” she wrote.
Kittelson claimed her baby passed away from sudden infant death syndrome.
On Facebook, Kittelson stated Stetson died from SIDS, but an autopsy allegedly found a much more complicated cause of death. Stetson had meth in his system when he died.
During a police interview, Kittelson allegedly admitted to using meth during her pregnancy and days before her son’s death, per WEAU. She claimed she fed her baby clean milk and “pumped and dumped” after using drugs.
She allegedly told police she wasn’t sure how her son had the substance in her system because she Googled how long meth stays in breast milk, and she thought she was in the clear.
A medical examiner ruled the official cause of death was meth toxicity. Kittelson and Olson each face charges of first-degree reckless homicide and chronic neglect of a child resulting in death. They each could spend up to 60 years in prison.
