Julia Fox Proves She’s Just Like Every Other Single Mom With Realistic NYC Apartment Tour

Actress and model Julia Fox took to TikTok to give her fans a peek at what some are calling her "underwhelming" two-bedroom apartment in New York City. Her place is shockingly humble compared to the multimillion-dollar homes celebrities — such as her former boyfriend, Kanye West — have revealed on social media and TV shows like MTV Cribs. Fox's abode is more in line with the reality of many New Yorkers' tiny apartments.

"OK, I never thought in a million years I would do this, but I do believe in maximum transparency, and I'm going to give you guys an apartment tour," Fox says in the video. "I know I'm going to get roasted and [whatever], but hopefully, maybe someone can watch this and be like 'OK, well maybe I'm not doing so bad.'"

Fox moved her bed to the living room and turned her bedroom into a play area for her 2-year-old son, Valentino.

Technically, Fox and her son live in a two-bedroom apartment. It has just five rooms: a living room, one bedroom that is closer to the size of a walk-in closet, another bedroom, a kitchen, and a bathroom.

The 32-year-old keeps some of her clothes in Valentino's play area, along with many of his toys. As she pans the room, Fox turns to her "nostalgia mirror," where she keeps photos of her son and two of her close friends who have died.

Fox continues the tour by showing a long hallway filled with excess items, passing by a sizable octagon-shaped mirror hanging on the wall. She then walks into the bathroom and gives a quick glimpse of the area, calling it "tiny" and saying, "It does what it's supposed to do," before walking into the kitchen.

"This is Valentino's little kitchen area, and this is my kitchen area. Don't judge me," she says as she points to a cotton candy machine on the table. "I know it's really messy."

Fox also has a large area in the kitchen where she keeps her shoes.

"I also have shoeboxes in my kitchen," which she says is "very common for New Yorkers."

As the tour continues, Fox walks into Valentino's room, where she "put the most effort" into decorating the space for the toddler. She said she wanted him to "really have a cute room" by adding a loft and stairs leading to his bed, but she says Valentino hardly ever hangs out in his room.

"He only wants to be in mama's room and doesn't even sleep in there. He sleeps with me," Fox says. "Yes, we're co-sleepers; sue me. I don't care."

Fox then walks back into the living room and says, "For me, personally, I just — I don’t like excessive displays of wealth; they make me feel icky, especially people who have really big houses,” she explains, while mentioning there are so many homeless people in the US. “It’s just really wasteful when there are so many homeless people in this country, and like, I just — I’m just not really like that.”

Fox says she struggled with a small rodent problem inside the apartment.

“We do have a little, small mouse problem,” Fox shares, “but, you know, it’s a problem depending on how you look at it — I kind of let them rock. I appreciate that they, um, at night while we’re sleeping, come out and clean up the crumbs that my son drops on the floor. So, yeah, I’m not gonna evict the mice anytime soon.”

The No Sudden Move actress concludes the end of her tour by showing urns of the ashes of her "sisters," Johnna and Harmony, sitting in the window.

TikTok users shared their thoughts on Fox's apartment tour.

In the comments section, TikTokers praised Fox for sharing a glimpse of normalcy many could relate to in their own lives. Lots of single moms could empathize with the size and state of her home. Some, however, were surprised she lives so much like regular New Yorkers.

"I am legit flabbergasted that Julia Fox lives just like me. It doesn't seem right. ," one user wrote.

"Your a mother that obviously prioritizes your child & it is a beautiful apartment. Love you are showing that success looks different for every person," another person wrote.

"I love this so much it's so normal and lived in!!!!" a third user commented.

"No because you don’t understand how much that means to us a realistic mom life!," a TikToker shared, shedding light on what most mothers with children go through.

"OMG thank you for posting this. I love it when people show a home that looks lived in!!! Congrats on your new place. It's lovely!" another user exclaimed.

She may live the glam life outside the walls of her apartment, but Julia is a celebrity mom who prefers to keep it real at home, and we're here for it too. Mess and all.
