Police have only released a few details.

They explained in a news release that the investigation is ongoing, but they do not anticipate any additional arrests in the case. Chatham County police added that they will not comment any further. WSAV reported Junior Babcock has a criminal history dating back to 2005. Prior arrests include battery, driving under the influence, and driving with a revoked or suspended license.

Daniel and Connie Babcock raised seven children.

The couple’s son-in-law, Leon McBride, spoke to WSAV on behalf of the family. He noted that his in-laws were good people.

“Daniel and Connie’s greatest desire was to honor the Lord by helping others,” McBride shared. “If one needed a place to sleep, a meal, financial help, or a hand to hold, they provided it.” He said the couple adored their family.

“Dannie and Connie Babcock loved all seven of their children and were committed to their care until the very end,” he claimed.

McBride also shared kind words about LJ.

He said the youngest victim leaves behind a sister, Paige Collins.

“Fishing was his greatest passion. He enjoyed hanging out with friends, hanging out with his sister, visiting with his mom, and taking care of his two dogs,” McBride said, “His smile was infectious. The lives of his family, friends, and schoolmates will forever be changed.”

LJ's sister created a GoFundMe account in his honor.

Collins shared that her brother died just a month shy of his 15th birthday. She echoed her brother’s love of fishing and making others laugh.

“We are all heartbroken by how sudden and unexpected this was. He was just a teenager and didn’t deserve this,” she wrote on the page. “We kindly ask if you can help us by donating to help with expenses to go to the funeral he deserves to have. We appreciate anything you can give and any prayers.”

She’s raised $2,400 of a $15,000 goal thus far.
