Man Allegedly Rushed Into NYC Massage Parlor & Killed His Wife While She Was Working

Police in New York City are trying to determine why a man rushed into his wife's place of business and brutally stabbed her. The killing occurred at Spring Garden Spa on Kissena Boulevard and Barclay Avenue in Queens.

Jiahai Ma, 35, allegedly attacked his wife, Jui Mei Teng, 26, in front of several witnesses. Ma was arrested and charged, but a motivation in the crime remains a mystery.

Ma allegedly rushed into the spa and began the attack.

The stabbing occurred around 5:30 p.m. September 3, according to ABC 7. Ma reportedly walked into the spa and began stabbing Tang in front of customers and coworkers.

The news outlet reported that the storefront where the attack occurred was home to several businesses, which were full at the time. Police were called and arrived a short time later.

The killer stayed at the scene.

When police arrived, Ma reportedly still had the bloody knife in his hand, according to ABC 7. His wife was taken to New York-Presbyterian Queens Hospital. She later died from her injuries, which included a stab wound to the neck.

Ma reportedly has no criminal history.

Ma had no prior arrests, per the New York Post. He was arrested at the scene and charged with murder, menacing, the criminal possession of a weapon, and harassment. His arraignment was pending in Queens Criminal Court. It is unclear what prompted the attack.
