An Oklahoma community wants answers after a young mother and her daughter died in a horrific attack. Deputies from the LeFlore County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in Poteau around 4:30 pm. on March 21, 2026. While inside, they found 31-year-old Gabrielle Hoffman Wilson and her 16-month-old daughter, Kimber Jolea Daray Terry, dead from apparent gunshot wounds. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation got involved and made a shocking discovery. The suspected killer was none other than Gabrielle Wilson’s twin brother, Grant Wilson.
Grant Wilson seemingly committed the crime and then left the scene.
Surveillance from a nearby home showed a vehicle arriving at the crime scene and leaving just four minutes later, WLBT reported. Investigators determined that the vehicle belonged to Grant Wilson and began a large-scale search for him. Per the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation, deputies from the Monroe County Sheriff’s Department arrested Grant Wilson on March 22 near Atlanta, Georgia, following a traffic stop.
The twins reportedly had a tumultuous relationship.
According to court documents obtained by 5 News, Grant Wilson and Gabrielle Hoffman Wilson had a tumultuous relationship. The twins’ father reportedly arrived at the home during the investigation and told police his children had a “history of violent arguments and physical altercations.”
When police found Grant Wilson, his car allegedly had multiple weapons inside, including a pistol and a rifle. He also had several changes of clothes and “long-term food supplies.”
Police are working to determine a motive behind the horrific crime.
Hunter McKee, the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation public information manager, told WLBT this case is a true tragedy.
“You know, this is an extremely sad case. This was a senseless crime, and it’s been a heartbreaking story so far,” he said.
McKee added that police are working diligently to try to understand what led to such a shocking crime. “We don’t have the answers to that yet. I know that this is this is an extremely, it’s just something that is hard to fathom when you’re talking about a brother to our victim and to know that she had such a young child,” he explained.
Loved ones paid tribute to the mother and daughter online.
Gabrielle Hoffman Wilson, known by loved ones as Gabba, left behind an older son and many close family and friends. They cannot believe she’s gone.
“Gabba, it’s incredibly hard to believe that we said goodbye to you today. Alayna said it best, there will never be another like you, even if they tried. We had a lot of good times and even more laughs. I’m so thankful for the memories,” a friend shared on Facebook. “Be kind and tell people you love them every chance you get. Till we meet again, pal. Pray pray pray for the Wilson-Hoffman family.”
“My heart is so broken and so torn in half Gabba Wilson you and my sweet grandbaby Kimbers rest in peace fly high with the angels I just can’t cope right now I just can’t I love you always and forever,” reads a message from Kimbers’ grandmother.
What a heartache for this family. They are mourning the loss of a daughter and granddaughter and the potential loss of a son if he’s convicted of murder. That’s too much pain for any family to endure.
