Man Called Out for ‘Disgusting’ Behavior in Kids’ Pool – Onlookers Filmed It but Didn’t Intervene

A video that shows a man doing something “disgusting” in a public pool has gone viral. The video, however, has also raised questions about why people chose to film the man instead of speaking up or getting involved in any way. In the video, a man appeared to bathe himself in a kids’ pool in New Zealand.

Although some people called out the man for behaving inappropriately around children, others defended him – and instead criticized the people who recorded it and shared the video on social media.

Per News.com.au via the New York Post, the incident appeared to take place at a park in New Zealand. A Facebook user named Luminis DaGawd shared the viral video. The video shows a man standing in the pool and lathering his body with soap while surrounded by kids.

In addition to rinsing off his arms in the pool, he appeared to reach his hands into his swim trunks to wash his behind. A man can be heard saying, “What the … he’s got soap, aye. Bro, it’s not a bath.”

Later in the video, when the man appeared to wash his butt in the pool, the man recording the video said, “For f—’s sake. Alright, kids, get out of the pool.” “That’s so disgusting why around the kids!!” one person said in reaction.

Some people noted that situations like these are exactly why they don’t like going to public pools. “This is where my fear of swimming in a public pool comes from,” one person wrote. Another shared that the man should “go have a shower in private” instead of using the public pool to clean himself.

Others, however, didn’t see what the problem was.

“What’s wrong? I mean isn’t it normal to shower/wash with soap etc after a swim anyway? It’s ok for kids with stink a—- to swim in a chlorinated pool but not ok for a man to clean himself after a swim? 😂” one of them wrote. “I’ve heard children laugh about taking a p— in the same pool I watched another child drink from. Who’s really the yuck one ?”

Additionally, some people urged those who filmed the video to have more empathy and compassion.

“People are too concerned about pulling their phones out for a bit of fame than having a word with the man and sorting the situation out in the moment,” one person commented, adding that the man could be “mentally unwell” and that it’s a shame that people in the community “have no heart towards the vulnerable.”

Another person agreed, writing, “Instead of people saying something and getting him out of the pool people film and laugh and share the video.”
