A Georgia dad saw a man climbing into his daughter’s bedroom, and he wasted no time contacting the police. When deputies from the Coweta County Sheriff’s Department arrived, they reportedly found 25-year-old Austin Sweatman in the 16-year-old girl’s closet wearing nothing but his underwear. Police arrested him without incident or apparently shame, according to his last social media post.
The Newnan-Times Herald reported the incident occurred at a residence in Moreland on April 29, 2025. The teenager’s father told police he saw Sweatman climbing into his daughter’s bedroom on home surveillance footage. Sweatman and the teenager were previously in a relationship, and there was an active warrant out for him in Butts County, Georgia. Deputies arrested him on a criminal trespassing charge. They took Sweatman to Coweta County Jail before law enforcement transferred him to Butts County.
Following his arrest, investigators searched Sweatman’s and the victim’s smartphones. According to Fox 5, police found sexually explicit photos the pair allegedly exchanged with each other. The photos led to charges of sexual exploitation of a child.
Two days prior to his arrest, Sweatman posted a photo on Facebook that appeared to show him and a female in a bed. Sheriee Craig, the mother of Sweatman’s ex and grandmother to his children, claimed Sweatman didn’t know the girl’s age. Someone questioned Craig, asking why a grown man would be climbing into a teenager’s window. She quickly admitted something wasn’t right.
“idk that definitely should have been a red flag he posted a pic of them layin in what I am assuming is her bed but he blocked their faces out which I thought was weird at the time so now it makes sense,” she shared on Facebook.
The whole story definitely seems off. Even if the victim lied and told him she was older than she is, would he really have to be sneaking around? Thankfully, her dad called the police and didn’t react with violence, or this story could have had a much darker ending.
