Kentucky mother Alexandrae Price reportedly left her 1-year-old son, Mason Moulding, in the care of her boyfriend Deavan Williams in July of 2026. Williams allegedly kept Mason inside a playpen in a filthy, bug-infested basement.
The Allen County Sheriff’s Department responded to Williams’ residence on July 27 around 10 p.m. following a call about an unresponsive child. Emergency responders transported Mason to an area hospital where doctors pronounced him dead.
Williams allegedly told police a disgusting story about Mason’s final hours that included the child eating a feces-filled diaper while the 22-year-old slept. Police ultimately arrested three people in connection with the toddler’s tragic death.
Police found an incredibly disturbing scene.
LEX 18 reported police arrested Alexandrae Price and Williams at their home on Cottage Drive on July 27. Williams was reportedly watching Mason while Alexandrae Price worked the night of his death. Per court documents, Williams claimed Mason became unresponsive after eating the soiled diaper.
He reportedly told police they bathed the child outside with a garden hose, and he was “surprised the baby did not have parasites due to the filth, and that he knew the baby had been eating a feces-filled diaper inside the playpen before becoming unresponsive.”
Mason allegedly faced abuse in the home.
When emergency responders took Mason to the hospital, he reportedly had “suspicious trauma, including mouth bleeding and body bruising.” Per the arrest report, the innocent toddler lived in putrid conditions.
“A physical inspection and interviews revealed Williams knowingly subjected the child under twelve to extreme endangerment and cruel punishment, residing in an un-air-conditioned garage filled with trash, beer cans, soiled diapers, and heavy cat urine, where the infant’s playpen sat directly on the contaminated floor,” court documents note.
The couple also allegedly abused animals in the residence.
According to the Scottsville Police Department, investigators went back to the home on Cottage drive and removed three dogs, 12 cats, and an opossum. “Most of the animals showed severe signs of neglect, and several are in such poor condition that humane euthanasia will be necessary,” police shared on social media.
“We are grateful for the assistance of our community partners, especially Allen County Animal Control, whose response today was instrumental. We also appreciate the continued support of everyone who has come forward with information. Your cooperation is making a difference.”
Police ultimately arrested three people in connection with Mason’s death.
WNKY reported Alexandrae Price and Williams each face a child abuse charge, and prosecutors charged Williams with Wanton murder. Police also arrested Alexandrae Price’s mother, Tina Price, who faces charges of first-degree criminal abuse, multiple counts of animal cruelty and two counts of knowingly neglecting a vulnerable adult.
Scottsville Police posted a message on social media asking the community to continue providing any information they can regarding this tragic case. They also implored residents to keep their eyes open for vulnerable children in need.
“It is our hope that this case raises awareness and encourages people to speak up when they believe a child may be in danger or living in unsafe conditions. If something doesn’t seem right, report it. One phone call could make a life-changing difference for a child,” the post reads. “If this case encourages even one person to report concerns and helps protect another child, that awareness can make a lasting difference.”
