By now, Donald Trump and wife Melania Trump have the avoidance of hard questions down to a science. Whereas Trump tends to give half-hearted answers to questions about things that Americans really want to know about, from ICE to the Epstein files, Melania apparently refuses to answer those questions altogether. They’re a perfect match, really.
In a clip from a White House meeting involving Melania and American-Israeli Keith Siegel and his wife, Aviva Siegel a year after Keith’s release from Hamas captivity, Melania is asked a question about Jeffrey Epstein’s accomplice, Ghislaine Maxwell. When a reporter asks Melania about the conviction of Maxwell, who was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in the sexual abuse of children, Melania refuses to answer her.
Melania Trump skirted around the topic of Ghislaine Maxwell like there isn’t a literal photo of them together.

In 2019, Epstein died by suicide while he was awaiting trial on the sex trafficking charges that have been at the center of the Epstein files. Maxwell, his convicted accomplice, essentially answered for his crimes and she is in federal prison. In the clip from Melania’s White House meeting, a reporter asks her about the possibility of moving Maxwell from her minimum-security Texas facility to a maximum prison.
“There’s a call from many Epstein survivors to have Ghislaine Maxwell moved into a high-security prison,” the reporter tells Melania.
“Would you want that to happen?”
Instead of answering the question in literally any possible way, Melania responds to the reporter that she would rather “honor” the release of Keith Siegel during the meeting. It’s not like anyone actually expected some evidence-backed and thoughtful response from Melania about Maxwell, but she certainly did herself no favors with those who were already pulling for the failure of Trump and his first lady.
“Melania calls her G,” someone noted on a TikTok with a clip from the White House meeting. “They are buds according to the Epstein file released.”
Someone else added, “She would say that after the latest Epstein file drop confirmed that she was emailing Ghislaine like old pals.”
In an email that was in the released Epstein files, Melania did email Ghislaine in 2002, three years before she married Trump, according to NDTV.
And she did indeed call Maxwell “G” as though they were already old pals.
“Dear G, How are you? Nice story about JE in NY mag. You look great in the picture,” Melania wrote. And then, of course, there is the now-infamous photo of the foursome out together that Melania will never escape.
After Melania refused to answer the reporter’s question about Maxwell and her prison location, someone else commented on the TikTok clip with, “Have you noticed that she never but never responds or explains ever!”
As another user was quick to add, “This administration deflects on everything.”
