A mother in Florida is accused of leaving her son alone in a hotel room with a dead body for hours. Amy Kemper, 32, was reportedly with her 11-year-old son and at least two adult males at the Palm Coast Hammock Beach Golf Resort & Spa over the weekend, and during an interview with police, she reportedly admitted involvement in nefarious activity.
The Flager County Sheriff’s Office issued a release Monday regarding Kemper’s arrest on Sunday. She allegedly used drugs and engaged in sexual activity at the hotel on Saturday, all with her son present.

The sheriff’s office responded to a call at the hotel Sunday morning.
According to a probable cause statement obtained by Law & Crime, sheriff's deputies arrived at the hotel after a 911 call about an unresponsive male. Paramedics began life-saving measures on the 60-year-old but could not revive him. Investigators interviewed Kemper, and she told a wild story.
The mother allegedly participated in a threesome and used drugs.
Kemper reportedly told police that she was staying at the hotel with her son, a 52-year-old man, and the 60-year-old man, according to an affidavit obtained by Law & Crime. During the investigation, authorities found marijuana, Viagra pills, and a white powder that appeared to be cocaine.
“It is also important to note that numerous sex toys were located in the bathroom and condom wrappers were located around the bed,” the affidavit noted.
Kemper allegedly picked up her son in the middle of the night and took him to the hotel.
She reportedly told police that she was drinking with several men at a bar on Saturday night before leaving around 2 a.m. She claimed she picked up the 11-year-old from his grandmother’s house and took him back to the hotel with her.
Law & Crime reported the mother and the men tried to push the couch the boy was sleeping on into a closet and hung a sheet so he could not see or hear what they were doing.
The 60-year-old man supposedly made a concerning sound before he died.
During her interview, Kemper reportedly said the 60-year-old man made a noise that sounded like a “medical episode.” Despite that, she and the other man reportedly left the room around 5 a.m. because she thought he was sleeping.
Her 11-year-old was still in the room. When she and the 52-year-old returned several hours later, the man was unresponsive.

The Florida Department of Children and Family took the boy.
DCF took custody of the boy, whom Kemper allegedly left for hours with a dead body, sex toys, and drug paraphernalia, Law & Crime reported.
Sheriff Rick Staly admonished the mother.
“Deputies were busy this past weekend,” he explained in the sheriff's office release. “A woman thought it was okay to bring her child to a resort in the middle of the night so she could engage in narcotic use and sexual activities. Unfortunately, her son was stuck alone in the room with the deceased male for several hours until she came back.”
Deputies arrested Kemper, took her to the Sheriff Perry Hall Inmate Detention Facility, and placed her under a $15,000 bond. She was charged with one count of felony child neglect. Upon release, she will have no contact with her son, per a court order.
