Police arrested a Florida mother accused of shooting another mother after their children got into a fight. The incident took place on June 18, 2025, and reportedly escalated from a confrontation between juveniles into a potentially deadly attack. When the alleged shooter, Michelle Jenkins, 34, realized what she’d done, it was too late. Police were already on their way.
According to court documents obtained by Action News Jax, the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a shooting on Jacksonville’s Eastside. When they arrived, they found the victim suffering from a non-life-threatening injury. Emergency responders transported her to an area hospital, where she spoke with investigators.
The unidentified victim alleged that her daughter and Jenkins’ daughter got into a physical fight. Jenkins’ daughter’s boyfriend broke up the fight, according to the victim, and allegedly “put hands on” her daughter. Jenkins reportedly had a gun at the scene “which fell out during the fray.”
The boyfriend told police that Jenkins picked up the gun and went back into her apartment. She allegedly shot the victim a short time later. The boyfriend told police Jenkins looked at him and said, “I done f—ed up.”
Jenkins’ story caused a lively conversation on social media, and many were shocked by the woman’s behavior.
“Awesome role model we’ve got here,” someone wrote.
One commenter added: “OMG, I’m sure she is regretting this decision. Think before you act.”
“Some people just don’t know how to act,” another person pointed out. “They have to learn that the reality shows are not real and you shouldn’t act like they are.”
Police arrested Jenkins and booked her in the Duval County Jail without bond on second-degree murder charges. She is due in court on July 10.
Under Florida law, Jenkins could face up to 15 years in prison and a $10,000 fine if convicted.
