Mom Who Went Viral After No One Attended Daughter’s Party Hits Back at the Late Apologies

Last week, Breanna Strong from Salt Lake City, Utah, posted a video to TikTok that quickly blew up, garnering millions of views. Breanna, who goes by @breannamstrong on TikTok, was celebrating her daughter Avery’s third birthday. She invited 27 friends, and no one showed up, despite several “yes” RSVPs. The video took off on the social platform, and now Breanna is hitting back at late apologies from the parents.

The 12-second clip has more than 8 million views since it was posted a week ago.

According to the video, Breanna had invited 27 friends of Avery's to celebrate her birthday, and she was relieved when 13 parents had responded with a “yes.” She booked a party room, decorated it to the nines, bought pizza and cake, and waited with her daughter for the guests to arrive.

The text on the video reads, "We invited 27 kids to Avery's 3rd birthday party. Not a single one of her friends showed up."

The video shows Avery in the party room all by herself.

In the clip, Avery is seen sitting on a bench in the decorated party room enjoying her pizza. She didn’t seem to realize that no one showed up for her, but her mom certainly did.

After showing Avery, the video cuts to the garbage with the remaining pizza being thrown out. “Money and time wasted,” the caption reads.

Now, a week later, Breanna has opened up about the 'heartbreaking' failed birthday party.

Speaking to DailyMail.com, Breanna said she was “completely devastated” for her kiddo, who had to eat her birthday pizza alone and didn’t get to enjoy her cake. She also hit back at the parents who didn’t show up and their very late apologies.

Breanna said that not having anyone show up “hurt her feelings,” but she’s comforted that she knows now “who her true friends are.”

Before sharing the details with TikTok, Breanna first posted to Instagram.

Breanna first shared the news that no one showed up to her daughter’s party on Instagram Stories, which she wanted to do because she “knew the parents who were invited would see it.” And they did see it and according to the mom, many reached out to apologize for missing the party, but she didn’t care.

“I received messages from those who were invited informing me, ‘It was an awful morning with the boys,’ or, ‘I’m so sorry. We forgot,’ or, ‘I wish we could have come! The kids aren’t feeling well,’” she explained to DailyMail.com.

Breanna thinks the apologies are too little too late, and she’s not interested in excuses.

“To me it was very careless of the parents who were invited. I sent texts, posted in the event on Facebook several times and even made a post on Instagram about how excited Avery was about her party tomorrow,” she explained.

“It’s a lot of time, effort and money to set up special events for anything. RSVPs are not what they use to be.”

Still, Breanna didn’t think so many people would watch her TikTok.

The mama told the media outlet that she “never thought” the video would “blow up the way it did.” But with millions of people hearing what happened to her daughter’s party, she had a lot of kind people reach out.

“I have had several hundred messages asking about how people can help make Avery’s birthday special,” she shared with DailyMail.com.

“People have been asking for Amazon wish list to send gifts, I had a family ask if they can send us to Disneyland, and impersonators who dress up as Elsa from Frozen [want] to FaceTime with Avery to wish her a happy birthday.”

Breanna wishes she “could give [Avery] the world because she most certainly deserves it.” However she’s happy that “thousands of people across the world” have left kind birthday messages for her daughter.
