A New York mom and her two young children reportedly jumped to their death at Niagara Falls and police say it wasn’t an accident. Chianti Means, 33, Roman Rossman, 9, and Mecca Means, 5 months old, reportedly crossed over a safety guard rail on Luna Island and went into the falls. Sadly, investigators have yet to locate any of their bodies.
According to New York State Police, troopers responded to Luna Island about 9 p.m. October 28. The investigation quickly determined Means and her two children jumped into the water and there was no threat to the public. Now, investigators are trying to determine what led the mother to such a desperate end.

Emergency crews responded quickly.
According to police, the New York State Park Police and the New York State Police, Bureau of Criminal Investigation arrived on the scene and began the search for Means and her children. Investigators quickly determined that Means intentionally went into Niagara Falls with her children but do not understand why. “New York State Park Police and State Police search/rescue efforts were conducted with negative results,” the news release reads.
Police said the area where the family fell is secure.
During a media conference, New York State Trooper James O’Callaghan said Luna Falls has a “lot of security measures.” Sadly, he said, “It’s not something where they just stumbled in.”
O’Callaghan added that police will continue to work with Means’ family to try to bring them “closure.” He added, “Based on the information we have, we do know it was an intentional act, but the reason why is tougher to answer.”
Loved ones quickly took to social media to share kind words about the family.
Means, who posted on Facebook as Diamond Scott, appeared to have many friends. Although it remains unclear what led to the tragedy, many shared their love for the mother and her children in the wake of their deaths.
“Today started out so beautiful until i got the news my niece and her 2 babies parished lastnight.
