Mom Hints at Bathing Kids in Public Pool & People Are Taking Sides

Taking your kids to the local public pool is all fun and games until you realize that everyone needs to shower as soon as you get home. Then, comes the protests for showering from a kid of almost any age, and the fight over who showers first. The irony is thick, yet none of the kids likely get that in any way.

A mom on TikTok has a way to solve this issue, though, and the internet is a little divided about what she’s actually suggesting that other parents do. The mom, whose name is Liz Hughart, shares in a video that she brings shampoo and conditioner to the pool to make it easier for her kids to get clean in the water before they head home. Then, she explains, showers aren’t needed at home. But, uh, does she mean she has her kids bathe in the pool? That’s what people think.

She said bringing shampoo and conditioner is her mom hack.

Liz’s mom hack for avoiding the chaos of showering at home after being at the pool all day is to bring shampoo and conditioner to the pool and get the kids clean enough to get on their pajamas and head home, ready for bed or at least to unwind. She explains that once they are done with the pool, they don’t have to worry about showering at home.

“If you have kids, the best pool hack is bringing shampoo and conditioner to the pool so you don’t have to do shower time after you’re done swimming,” Liz says in her video. “Literally always have it in our beach bag. Then when we’re done with the pool, we’re done for tonight.”

Some people commented to question whether or not Liz also brings soap or body wash of some kind. But others don’t quite get the pool hack the mom is describing. It’s probably because she isn’t 100% clear about what she is suggesting as a way to bathe your kids after you finish up at the pool for the day.

People are divided on if she means she cleans her kids in the pool or in showers.

At first, it definitely seems like Liz’s hack involves having her kids use the shampoo and conditioner in the community pool. She does mention avoiding the shower, after all. But some users in the comments argued that Liz is explaining that her kids shower at the pool rather than in it. Still, others are unconvinced.

“So where are we bathing bc it better not be the pool,” one user commented.

Another person wrote, “You mean in the showers they have at the pool right? Not the pool pool?”

Someone also joked, “Yes! And don’t forget the toothpaste for the drinking fountain!”

“Pretty sure she talking about the showers at the pool…I hope,” another user added.

She posted a follow-up video to clear things up.

Luckily, for the many users up in arms about what Liz is talking about regarding showering in or at the pool after swimming, she shared a follow-up video.

In the video, Liz says, “This is for kids. Shampoo, conditioner, a little bit of body wash, stick them in their pajamas, and go. And you’re done for the night. Easy.

Also not showering in the pool. At the pool. We’re showering at the pool. At the pool showers. Blowing my mind right now.”

The fact that she had to stress this, though, sort of proves that she was not very clear to begin with.
