Mom, Pregnant Teen & 12-Year-Old Found Dead & Zip-Tied in Alabama Trailer

Modern technology has both advantages and disadvantages. Those of us who grew up before the internet and smartphones often lament the good old days, but as parents, we’re grateful that technology allows us to keep a closer eye on our kids and loved ones. On April 20, 2026, 17-year-old Keziah Luker’s long-distance boyfriend noticed her phone moving on the Life360 app but couldn’t reach her. He contacted a nearby relative who stopped at her Wilmer, Alabama, home to make sure everything was OK. Unfortunately, what they found inside looked like a scene from a horror movie.

The sheriff’s office found three people dead in the home.

During a news conference, Mobile County Sheriff Paul Burch identified the victims as Luker, her 46-year-old mom, Lisa Gail Fields, and Fields’ 12-year-old son, Thomas Cordell. According to the sheriff, all three victims had their arms zip-tied behind their backs. Burch said Ferguson reportedly had stab wounds, Luker was shot, and Cordell’s throat was cut. Authorities found each victim in a separate room inside the mobile home at  7950 Auble Moody Road. They all lived in the residence.

It looked as if the suspects wanted something in the home.

Burch claimed during the news conference that the home had been “gone through,” and it appeared “someone was searching for something.” The sheriff added that at this point, investigators “do not suspect any domestic or family type situation.”

Tragically, Luker was pregnant at the time of her death. She also had an 18-month-old daughter in the home the night of the deadly attack, but the toddler remained unharmed.

The killings shocked family and neighbors.

An unidentified neighbor told WMBB they could not believe what happened to the family. “My little girl went to J.E. Turner with TJ. They was in a class together. TJ was actually a lovely person, and his mom was too, and his sister. And it’s just heartbreaking that it happened like that,” the neighbor said.

A relative who wished to remain anonymous echoed the neighbor’s statement. “We’re not doing good. I mean, it’s a senseless murder for nothing,” the family member shared with WMBB.

Fields’ husband blasted those criticizing his family.

Nathan Fields shared his frustration in a Facebook post. It appears rumors about the family began spreading, and he wanted to make it very clear that he believes his wife and her children were innocent victims.

“To all the ignorant jacka–es talking stupid on the tragedy that had befallen our family stop! I’m serious because this isn’t something you want to get into! We had no ties to cartel or anything stupid!” Fields wrote. “This was someone who saw what we had and off people talking done something so godless! Shut your mouths speaking stupid on my wife and our family! Anyone who knows me knows I am not joking or just talking! My wife and our kids was innocent and taken over someone’s jealousy and greed.”

At this point, police have no suspects, and Burch would not speculate on a motive. Burch also declined to discuss law enforcement’s past dealings with the family. Per WMBB, the sheriff’s office believes this was a targeted attack and there is no ongoing threat to the public.

Nathan Fields seems pretty adamant that his family was innocent, but it appears there might be more to this story than he’s letting on.
