An Atlanta mother will spend the rest of her life in jail, convicted of horrifically murdering her toddler sons. In 2017, Lamora Williams, 24, reportedly put her sons Ja’Karter Penn, 1, and Ke’Yaunte Penn, 2, into an oven and turned it on. Later, she called 911 reporting an accident with her children. Williams claimed she wasn’t home and that her sons had died on a caregiver’s watch. An investigation determined that’s not what happened at all.
According to Fox 5, Williams called 911 and said she found her children dead and didn’t know what to do. An investigation proved Williams lied to the police and had killed Ja’Karter and Ke’Yaunte herself. A judge has now made sure Williams will never leave prison.

She later told police she had left her children with a caregiver and returned home to find the boys dead and the caregiver gone.
Williams reportedly contacted the boys' father and showed him their sons.

Williams' family said the mother suffered from mental illness.
Her mother, Brenda Williams, told WSB-TV that her daughter had struggled with her mental health her entire life. Shortly after her grandsons’ deaths, Brenda Williams visited her daughter in jail.
“I just came from the jail. I also let them know to put her on suicide watch because she’s gonna kill herself,” she said.
In addition, Tabitha Hollingsworth, Lamora Williams’ sister, told WSB-TV that the family had tried to get her sister help for years.
“This was something we saw that could possibly happen. She’s had issues from a baby, issues my mom tried to address with the state of Georgia,” Hollingsworth said.
