A Colorado mom was shopping for new clothes when she realized she wasn’t alone in the dressing room. Michelle Chandler was reportedly at a department store in Lakewood when she noticed what appeared to be a man filming her from under the dressing room wall. Chandler decided to take matters into her own hands and tackled the Peeping Tom, holding him on the ground so he couldn’t get away.
Chandler, a mom of five, told Fox 31 she wasn’t going to take any chances. She knew that if she wanted the unnamed suspect detained, she had to do it herself, so she did. Now, she wants that man held accountable.

Chandler said she noticed a strange smell.
The mom told Fox 31 she wanted to buy herself a new outfit for Mother’s Day, so she decided to do a little shopping on May 11. While she was in the dressing room changing, she thought to herself that someone’s feet smelled really terrible. As she bent down to take off her pants, that’s when she said she saw a man’s shoes and socks and his “phone pointing right at me.”
She wasted no time tackling the suspect.
Chandler said she didn’t want the man to get away, so she tackled him. “I grabbed him, threw him down on the ground, put my knee in his back, and held him dead down,” she explained.
Employees at the store helped detain the man, who was 19 years old, Chandler told Fox 31, until mall security and eventually Lakewood police officers arrived and arrested him.
The fitting room was apparently for men and women.
According to Chandler, the fitting room is open to men and women, which she thinks is part of the problem. “This is why men don’t belong in the women’s fitting room,” she told Fox 31.
She said the suspect needs to be held accountable for his alleged actions. “It’s not OK what he did,” she said.

The creepy incident is under investigation.
The Lakewood Police Department representative told Fox 31 that the incident did occur and that police responded to the scene. “Sadly, this is legit,” the person said.
The department store where the incident allegedly took place was not named, but a mall spokesperson directed Fox 31 to the department store’s headquarters for further information.
It is unclear whether the man was charged or what kind of punishment he could ultimately face if found guilty.
