If you've got one or more kids who are old enough to brush their own teeth, then chances are you're endlessly embroiled in a battle over your messy bathroom sink. Like it or not, kids are NOTORIOUS for leaving toothpaste clumps and stains all over the place, which can leave your bathroom sink looking … well, kind of disgusting. However, one TikTok mom has apparently stumbled upon a clever toothpaste hack that will keep your bathroom sink looking spotless. (Yes, even with a house full of kids.)
Her name is Shannon Doherty (not to be confused with *Shannen* Doherty)
After all, the things kids can do to a toothpaste tube is next-level
The containers always wind up twisted beyond belief, with toothpaste spilling out over the top and hardening in gross clumps as it dries.
Then there's all the extra globs that like to fall into the sink, which kids love to leave until Mom comes along to wipe it all up.
… Sound familiar?
Doherty eventually stumbled across a product that saved her sanity
Using clear soap dispensers she bought at IKEA — which retail for just 99 cents — Doherty filled them up with toothpaste, tossed the remaining tubes, and … voila! Problem solved.
The clear dispensers eliminate the need for pesky tubes
As a result, kids can see exactly how much toothpaste is left inside the containers, and there doesn't seem to be as much overflow that results in messy cleanup, since the toothpaste comes out more slowly.
Pretty genius, huh?
People have been applauding the mom's clever idea
“My 7-year-old sent this to me!” one mom wrote in the comments. “Off to IKEA I go ….“
“Omgggg,” wrote someone else. “That’s so cool.”
Of course, a few people did have some hesitations …
“What if they use the wrong one and brush their teeth with soap?” someone wondered aloud.
… We guess that's always a possibility? But here's hoping your kiddos know the difference between their brightly colored toothpaste and the soap they wash their hands with.
Otherwise, they're on their own.
