A string of horrific discoveries in Germany has left police on the search for a killer. It all began with a pair of severed hands found along the side of a highway. Investigators believe they know who they belong to, but how it’s all connected is truly disturbing.
The Mirror reported that the hands were discovered on the A45 highway in North Rhine-Westphalia near Monreal, Germany, on November 18, 2025. Two weeks later, investigators found a decapitated body with missing hands. According to Bild, per the Mirror, the woman’s body was found 70 miles from the discarded hands. Investigators linked the hands to a 32-year-old woman from Eritrea, Africa, using fingerprints.
That’s not all. The woman had a 3-month-old baby who was abandoned in a stroller outside a monastery. Thankfully, the infant showed no signs of injury and the baby’s name and date of birth were carefully labelled on the stroller. Police quickly linked the newborn to the woman.
Authorities continued their investigation at a refugee shelter in Bonn, where the woman had reportedly stayed. No one reported the woman missing, and her room showed no signs of a violent crime, per The Mirror. Police took her 41-year-old partner into custody overseas in connection with her death. He is reportedly not considered a suspect but a witness.
The most upsetting part of the entire case is the fact that this poor woman’s head remains unaccounted for. Her body, her hands, and her baby appeared in different locations. It almost seems as if her killer is trying to play some kind of sick game of hide and seek. The silver lining is that her baby is OK, although the little one will undoubtedly miss their mother forever.
