Mississippi Mother Allegedly Shot & Killed Her Husband During Argument on Facebook Live

A Mississippi woman allegedly killed her husband during a live Facebook stream Saturday morning. Kadejah Michelle Brown, 28, and Jeremy Roc Brown, 28, were reportedly involved in a domestic dispute while she was broadcasting on social media. The couple argued for several minutes until police say Kadejah Brown shot and killed her husband.

According to a news release from the sheriff's office in Lowndes County, Mississippi, deputies were called to an apartment just before 8 a.m. Saturday for a domestic issue. After they arrived, deputies found Jeremy Brown dead from a reported gunshot wound, along with a 9 mm handgun. Police took Kadejah Brown into custody without any issues.

Kadejah Brown maintained active social media accounts before her arrest.

Kadejah and Jeremy Brown had four children, including an infant. The pair often posted photos of their family together on seemingly good days, and images of birthday parties and anniversary celebrations show a happy family.

On March 5, Kadejah Brown wrote a tribute to her husband on their anniversary and days later shared an image of a new wedding ring with the caption, "My husband got me a upgrade for my anniversary present even though it came after our anniversary but I'm very thankful and appreciative and I love you so much hubby."

Early on March 25, the tone of her Facebook posts changed.

Kadejah Brown posted a screenshot just before 6:53 a.m. Saturday. The exchange was reportedly between her husband and another woman. She called him a "cheater." In a subsequent post 10 minutes later, she called out Jeremy Brown for misconduct with employees.

Five minutes later, at 7:08 a.m., she accused her husband of being bisexual. After the posts, Kadejah Brown went live on Facebook, which is when tragedy struck.

The original video disappeared from her page.

Kadejah Brown's Facebook live stream is no longer on her profile, but it was captured by many people who uploaded it to their pages. The 10-minute clip involves Kadejah Brown walking through her apartment and making accusations about her husband to the camera and another woman in her apartment.

She claims he left home to be with his mother and left her and their four children alone. "Where is his loyalty?" she asks another woman, reportedly her mother, off camera. The pair continued to banter back and forth about Jeremy Brown and his perceived faults.

Jeremy Brown appears, and the altercation begins.

During the video, Kadejah Brown continues talking to the camera about Jeremy Brown while he talks to someone else on the phone. The pair verbally argue for several minutes until Kadejah Brown drops the phone. Jeremy Brown tells her continually to get her hands off of him. There is no video of a physical altercation.

Then, a single gunshot rings out.

The argument between the couple escalates continuously, with Kadejah Brown allegedly hitting Jeremy Brown and threatening to kill him. Five minutes into the video, the audio recording picks up the sound of a single gunshot and several screams.

Soon after we hear what appears to be a child crying, and a voice cries out, "Your daddy's dead." The crying and wailing continues for several minutes, and the recording stops.

The couple had a history of domestic violence.

According to Sheriff Eddie Hawkins, this was not the first altercation between the couple.

"There was a history of domestic violence between Brown and the victim. This was a tragic and senseless murder and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family of the victim. Fortunately, Brown is in custody and we look forward to the criminal justice system holding her accountable," he said.

Comments on the Lowndes County Sheriff's Facebook page warn followers to refrain from passing judgment on the case so quickly.

"'History of domestic violence' does not mean he was the abuser. Women can be abusers too. It's still called domestic violence regardless but the term doesn't mean he was the aggressor and she was defending herself," someone wrote. "Many people seem to be interpreting it that way and I just wanted to point out my view on it."

"She deserves to go to prison for the rest of her life, dude peacefully tried to leave, she started hitting him as he continued to try to peacefully leave, she pulled a gun on him and he calmly said he was going to call the police and she shot him," another person wrote, adding, "the shooting may have been a accident but she knew it was a deadly weapon, she was the aggressor, she was stopping him from leaving against his will and then she killed him."

"Her mother needs to be arrested as well. Why is she over there cooking for the kids in the first place?" a comment reads. "Lord, please watch over and protect those babies. Amen."

Kadejah Brown was taken to Lowndes County Adult Detention Center and is being held without bond until her initial court appearance. She faces murder charges.
