Parents Attacked & Killed ‘Protecting Their Little Girls’ During Hike in Arkansas State Park

We are always trying to give our kids the world by showing them the world. Whether that is intense travel or simple day outings, the point of them is to spend quality time with them.

That was likely the intention 43-year-old Clinton David Brink and 41-year-old Cristen Amanda Brink had when they brought their daughters hiking in Devil’s Den State Park in West Fork, Arkansas, on July 26, 2025. The ominously named state park contains 11 hiking trails that all lead into the Ozark National Forest and is home to many campsites, caverns, intricate rock formations, and an 8-acre lake.

Sadly, the couple was brutally attacked and killed right in front of their girls, who are 7 and 9 years old. Although the girls were luckily not hurt, their parents were found dead on the walking trail. Police have not released details on the attack, as the suspect is still at large.

The couple’s family released the following statement on July 28, 2025, to police:

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult time as they grieve and learn how to navigate this new reality. They ask that if anyone has any information at all that will help the investigation, to please contact the proper authorities immediately. Clinton and Cristen died heroes, protecting their little girls and they deserve justice. They will forever live on in all of our hearts.”

CBS News reported one detail that may help the attacker get identified, according to a news release from the Arkansas Department of Public Safety: Authorities believe the perpetrator sustained an injury during the attack but have not revealed what led them to believe this happened.

Police are asking anyone who was at the park on that fateful Saturday to review any photos, videos, or GoPro footage and submit them so they can possibly identify the man. The suspect was seen driving a black four-door Sedan, likely a Mazda, with a covered license plate. They believe the man was wearing a long-sleeved shirt with rolled up sleeves, with sunglasses, dark pants, and a black baseball cap. He also had a black backpack and fingerless gloves.

Police have already received “hundreds” of tips, but they are urging anyone with any information to call in.
