Few things in childhood are as exciting as a trip to Disney. These vacations are a huge deal that can take months, even years, to plan. Not only is the preparation difficult, but it's also an extremely expensive trip to take. So when a parent decides to make this kind of investment, hopefully memories will last a lifetime and their kids will be excited.
TikToker Amanda, who goes by @alt__313, surprised her girls with a Disney trip, but telling them did not go at all the way she hoped. Instead of being crazy excited about the trip, her daughters just started to sob, making the moment a big flop. Amanda must have felt as deflated as one of those giant Mickey balloons all over the parks.
It seemed like a good idea at the time.

In the TikTok, it appears that Amandaâs girls are just coming home from school when someone off-camera says, âGuess where weâre going? Weâre going to Disney World. Today.â
The shock on the girls' faces is amazing, but the real shock came when the older daughter starts to cry.
It was ânot the reactionâ they were hoping for.
Understandably, the family was pretty surprised at the little girlâs reaction.
She begins to cry hard after she hears the news, but we soon hear why. She says âPlaneâ as she heads toward the lady behind the camera for reassurance.
The older daughterâs tears start a chain reaction, and now the younger sis is crying too. Once again, we hear, âYouâre going to Disney World!â from a very excited adult.
Oh, the emotions. We donât know if we should cry for the kids or for the adults.
Once the initial shock wears off, things start to turn around.
Thankfully for the adults in the room, the girlsâ fear becomes joy.
The older daughter jumps around when they learn they are staying at Disney World. She has clearly forgotten about the plane ride, and her eyes are set on Mickey, Minnie, and his plans. She also finds out that someone is meeting them at the airport, which makes her very happy.
The moment ended up being 'magical.'
Amandaâs caption says it was magical. The girls finally came around and couldnât wait to get out the door. The video has 22,000 views, with lots of comments empathizing with the parents and the kids.

These girls arenât the only ones to have Disney disappointment.

A mom posted her âEPIC failâ video in early February. Jenn Westphal, who goes by @jennwestphal22 on TikTok, shared her Disney reveal that had some underwhelmed kids and one crying that his ears hurt from the one and only childâs excitement.

Ugh. Thatâs got to be a gut punch, but surely they had a fantastic time on vacation. Itâs just like any other day as a parent, though, right? You do your best to make things awesome, and kids come along and ruin it. Darn kids.
