A Pathologist Was Arrested After 32 Fetal Remains Were Found Buried in Her Former Garden

A young couple made a disturbing discovery at a home in Poland during routine renovation. It appeared someone had buried large amounts of medical waste and fetal remains in the home’s yard. The residence in Lutoryż, near the city of Rzeszów, once belonged to a pathologist identified only as Magdalena H. Police quickly apprehended the woman and are now trying to determine how the remains got to the property and if Magdalena H. acted alone.

The home’s owner reportedly uncovered Magdalena’s big secret.

According to The Sun, an unidentified couple purchased the home from Magdalena H. They were working on the house when they reportedly uncovered medical waste. The couple contacted authorities on June 10, 2026, and investigators began examining the home. They reportedly found microscope slides and paraffin blocks, but as the search continued, things got progressively worse.

Investigators reportedly found human remains.

TYP World reported that prosecutor Krzysztof Ciechanowski confirmed that investigators found 32 human fetuses.

“As established so far, these items were found during earthworks on the property. Among the waste there was also a human fetus and other remains that could constitute human fetuses in an early stage of development or their fragments,” prosecutor Krzysztof Ciechanowski said.

According to TVP World, Radio Eska reported Magdalena H. had an explanation for why the remains were on the property.  She allegedly took the dead fetuses from the hospital during the COVID-19 pandemic and conducted medical research at home. She reportedly took the fetuses and buried them in sacks on her property when she was finished.

Some wonder if Magdalena H. told the truth.

Some questioned if Madgalena H. may have performed illegal abortions.

“Now the @PolskaPolicja analysts are stepping in: checking phones, emails… looking at traffic and contacts—both recent and from years ago. If these were illegal abortions, a lot of people are terrified and making calls. She likely performed the procedures at a public hospital but handled the ‘disposal’ herself to keep it under wraps,” someone shared on X.

Others felt bad for Magdalena H.’s neighbors who have had to witness the property being destroyed. “If I were a neighbor living near that house, I would demand substantial compensation from the doctor for the psychological trauma and the drop in property value caused by the house’s terrible notoriety. Such houses can be impossible to sell for years. And I certainly couldn’t live there after all that,” someone commented.

Magdalena H. could face a lengthy prison sentence.

In addition to the fetuses, investigators also found materials like tubes and containers and even medical records on the property, per TVP news. Depending upon what the investigation finds, Magdalena H. could spend more than a decade in prison. She’s currently under investigation for desecration of human remains and illegal disposal of hazardous medical waste charges.

It’s unclear whether Magdalena H. currently works at a hospital or has access to human remains.
