Mom Pregnant With Twins Was Driving When a Metal Bar Flew Off a Truck & Hit Her Abdomen

Whether we want to believe it or not, driving can be very dangerous. The person behind the wheel has to be aware of so much, and sometimes, we don’t even realize what might be coming toward us until it’s too late.

A California woman was driving in Temecula on July 1, 2026, when something truly terrifying came flying toward her vehicle. A metal bar fell from a truck and crashed through her windshield and into her abdomen. The woman, who is pregnant with twins, not only survived the crash, but she also walked away with just minor injuries.

The incident happened very quickly.

The California Highway Patrol Temecula posted about the accident on Facebook. The pregnant woman was driving a Ram ProMaster on I-15 south of Winchester Road on July 1 at around 2:15 p.m. A metal bar fell from a truck and “penetrated the van’s windshield and struck her in the abdomen.” Police called the fact that she and her unborn babies survived nothing short of a “miracle.”

Unsecured loads pose a substantial risk to drivers.

Per the CHP Temecula, the metal bar could have caused a deadly crash.

“Unsecured loads contribute to thousands of crashes annually, resulting in hundreds of deaths and tens of thousands of injuries nationwide. Road debris from vehicles causes over 200,000 crashes in just a few years in the U.S. alone,” the release explains.

CHP urged drivers to ensure cargo is properly tied down before hitting the road.

“It could save lives — including those of expectant mothers and their precious cargo,” CHP reminded drivers.

Photos from the incident shocked followers.

CHP Temecula posted photos not only of the woman’s van but also of the metal bar that struck her windshield. Amazingly, nothing more serious happened. Followers couldn’t help but comment on the story.

Some people used the story as a reminder to keep a safe distance behind other vehicles.

“This is why I always try to keep 2 car lengths behind a trailer with items,” one person wrote.

This person agreed, writing, “Glad the person is okay, definitely a good lesson why you don’t follow too closely.”

Others shared their own stories of really scary driving situations.

“She’s very lucky. When I lived back east years ago, a driver was beheaded by a metal bar that had fallen off a truck,” one person recalled.

The fact that the woman and her twins survived what could have been a truly horrific situation made some people think that a higher power came through to protect the woman and her unborn babies.

“Wow, to be able to see into the future to see what amazing things God has for those babies. He didn’t save them just to live ordinary lives. He saved them for something amazing!” A follower wrote.

This person agreed, and said the woman and her children received an ultimate blessing. “God was definitely with her and her twins,” they wrote.

This person wrote what so many of us thought when we saw the photos. “That’s is some final destination stuff. Glad they’re ok!”
