Sheriff Says 18-Year-Old ‘McNut’ Called McDonald’s & Threatened a Shooting for Forgetting His McNuggets

Police in Florida arrested a teenager after he allegedly made multiple threats against a McDonald’s restaurant because they messed up his order. When the suspect, 18-year-old Dayton Wayne Schaffer, realized he didn’t get his chicken McNuggets from a north Lakeland McDonald’s, he apparently lost his cool and made three separate calls from his phone, allegedly threatening to shoot up the restaurant. Now, he’s facing felony charges.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd shared the story in a pun-filled video on Facebook detailing the alleged crime. Judd said Schaffer went to McDonald’s, and due to “human error,” employees missed his McNuggets. Instead of going back or making a complaint over the phone, the teenager allegedly did something felonious.

“This guy acted like a McNut,” Judd said, holding up Schaffer’s mug shot. “So this McNut didn’t get his McNuggets from McDonald’s. On three different occasions, he threatens to shoot the place up. He uses all kinds of foul language.”

Judd said the manager offered to fix the mistake after the first call, but Schaffer allegedly wouldn’t let it go and continued to threaten the employees.

“So he used his McPhone to make a McThreat to McDonald’s, his actual phone number,” Judd said in the video, looking astonished. “It was a slow McPitch for us to make a McArrest.”

When authorities got to Schaffer’s house, he allegedly admitted to making the calls but said it was just a joke.

Unfortunately for him, those threats are taken seriously. Police arrested Schaffer, who sits in Polk County Jail on $15,000 bond, according to the sheriff. He faces charges of false reporting a bomb or weapon of mass destruction and using two-way communication to commit a felony.

Judd’s followers didn’t have much McPity for Schaffer, but they loved the sheriff’s sense of humor.

“You know what?!!  Adding ‘Mc’ to everything is hilarious! And highlights how he truly over reacted about some MCnuggets,” someone joked in the comments.

“Now he will have plenty of time to think about his Mcmistake,” another person laughed.

“What a ‘McMoron.’ (I’m lovin’ it !!!!),” another person wrote with a laugh.
