This was something truly special
It was a total happy coincidence
Witnessing her older sister give birth came in handy for Adrianna a lot sooner than she thought. Not long after her nephew Kash arrived, Adrianna started having contractions of her own. When she went to the hospital however, they told her that she wasn't really in active labor yet.
"They were like, ‘You can either hang out here, or labor at home,’" she shared, saying she opted for the second choice. But instead of going home, she went to McKayla's to meet her new nephew.
Then there was a change of plans
By the time Adrianna and her boyfriend got to McKayla's house, her labor had progressed significantly. But Adrianna couldn't fathom another trip to the hospital.
"I was like, ‘I guess I’m going to have my baby here,’" Adrianna shared. Luckily for her, McKayla's birthing pool had already been cleaned — it just needed fresh water.
McKayla immediately went into midwife mode. "I was helping her with slowing her breathing and she was squeezing my hands," she said. "When she was pushing, I was reassuring her that she was doing well and this is what her body was made for."
The cousin twins were born
Eight hours after Kash's birth, his cousin Rylan was born in the same birthing pool. "My sister caught the baby," Adrianna happily shared.
"The night before, we were doing squats on FaceTime and joking about going into labor together," she recalled. "The fact that it actually happened is crazy."
