A judge has blocked a famously virile sperm donor in the United Kingdom from having increased parental rights to one of his nearly 200 children. Robert Albon, known on social media as @joe_donor_uk, claims he’s fathered 180 children worldwide. Albon petitioned a court to increase his rights to a daughter he reportedly fathered naturally in 2023. But after hearing details, the judge decided it would be in the family’s best interest to keep Albon away from the child.
According to the BBC, Albon hoped to obtain parental control and contact with his daughter, whom he fathered through sexual contact with her mother. High Court judge Mr. Justice Poole, denied the petition, stating Albon allegedly “seeks to control others.” The judge stated Albon would potentially move on to another family “as he has done previously.”
The court found Albon willingly fathered children with very little regard.
“The evidence before the court shows that Mr. Albon will have sex with, or provide his sperm for artificial insemination, to just about anyone who asks,” the judge stated, per the BBC.
In a separate hearing, the court heard from a second mother with whom Albon reportedly fathered a child in 2022. He also wanted to obtain parental rights to that child, but the court denied his request.
The judge asserted Albon often fathered children with “vulnerable” women who were either single or in same-sex relationships. The judge questioned Albon’s intentions. “Is he compelled to reproduce?” he asked.
The judge stated that Albon, originally from the United States, wants to control women. He’s allegedly already tried with five or six in the UK. Poole denied his petition for parental control based on Albon’s propensity to move from one victim to another.
“I have no confidence that Mr. Albon would commit to contact and find it likely that he would move on to another family when it suited him, as he has done previously,” the judge said.
