Every day, going out into public becomes increasingly frightening. Violent crime continues to plague the nation. Places we once felt safe, such as school, church, or a shopping center, now make people feel uneasy. It’s always important to keep your guard up and be aware of your surroundings. Yet even the most observant and aware people come across strangers whose thoughts and actions blow their minds. Keon Harris, an 18-year-old from Illinois, allegedly beat up a 15-year-old at Walmart with help from an accomplice in January 2025. He faced charges of aggravated battery and mob action. If you thought that would be enough to keep him out of trouble, you thought wrong.
According to court documents obtained by Law & Crime, Harris, who lives in Woodstock, was on pretrial release related to his previous charges when police received a tip about a new matter. Harris allegedly used Snapchat to harass and threaten a father by making threats against the man’s baby.
The criminal complaint stated Harris reportedly sent multiple videos of himself holding an AR15-style rifle to the father. But it’s what police claim he said that will really make your skin crawl.
“Have you ever seen a baby die,” Harris allegedly asked. “Imagine your son leaking from his forehead.”
Prosecutors charged Harris with phone harassment and disorderly conduct in connection with the threats. According to online records, Harris is due in court in March for his 2025 battery case.
In this day and age, we can’t understand why anyone would make a threat on a social media platform and think they won’t get caught. What do people not understand about the internet being forever? At just 19, Harris is building quite a rap sheet for himself. Perhaps he should quit while he’s ahead.
