We may never fully understand why some people do the things they do. Their minds don’t work like most, and that can put others in danger. Sadly, this includes people who prey on children for fun. As far as we’re concerned, adults who intentionally hurt children deserve a special place in prison. If what a 14-year-old girl in Michigan says is true, Ronnell Agee, is among those people. The man allegedly held the unidentified child in a boarded-up Detroit home and sexually assaulted her for 10 days before letting her go. Agee’s now in jail, facing a long prison term.
It’s not clear how Agee and the teenager met.
The Detroit Police Department shared that Agee allegedly held the girl at a home from March 3, 2026, to March 10, 2026. During that time, the teenager experienced things no one should ever have to endure.
According to court documents obtained by Fox 2, the 37-year-old allegedly kept knives next to the bed and threatened to hurt the teenager’s family if she made the wrong move.
“He held her down, she tried to stop, he held her arms back, and he continued to assault her. She was screaming, and he did not stop,” shared Lisa Coyle from the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office.
The alleged abuse continued for days.
Coyle said Agee held the teenager hostage with no way to escape his hour of horrors. “She couldn’t leave because the windows were boarded up and there were no doorknobs on the door,” Coyle explained.
Agee apparently had a change of heart when he saw a social media post asking people to find the 14-year-old girl.
“The defendant finally let her leave when he saw that she was posted as a missing person on social media,” Coyle added, per Fox 2.
News of Agee’s arrest disgusted the neighborhood.
A neighbor who asked not to be identified told WDIV he’d had a few neighborly interactions with Agee and loaned him tools to help with his lawn. He said he never would have thought Agee could do something so vile. He said his heart “just fell through the floor” when he learned about the accusations.
The neighbor also expressed disgust, knowing the neighborhood has several children that Agee could have preyed upon.
“You had the potential to take advantage of my young daughter,” the man said, per WDIV. “If you could do that to someone else’s daughter, you could do that to anybody’s daughter.”
Agee faces several charges.
At the time of his arrest, Agee was out on bond for pointing a gun at his wife and threatening to “blow her head off,” per Fox 2. The news outlet also reported Agee has a history of mental illness and violent behavior, which he’s denied.
Per Detroit police, Agee faces charges of first-degree criminal sexual conduct, kidnapping, third-degree criminal sexual conduct, delivery of a controlled substance – marijuana to a minor, and one count of harboring a runaway. WDIV reported Agee’s due in court on March 26.
This is just sick. If he did what this child said he did, put Agee behind bars and throw away the key. He doesn’t deserve to touch grass ever again.
