We all know there's just something that happens when a woman enters Target. Maybe it's something in the air … maybe it's in our genetic makeup … but whatever it is, the second we walk through those automatic doors, something takes over us — and there's no going back. Suddenly, that planned "quick" 15-minute trip turns into a two-hour long shopping spree with a pretty hefty price tag. A TikToker dad named Chris (aka @melzchris) knows this phenomenon well. So well, in fact, that he recently made a video poking fun at his own wife's obsession with Target, which people everywhere are finding super relatable.
The dad of two first posted the video back in late September.
Since then, it's racked up tens of millions of views and thousands of comments.

In it, Chris powered through the mundane (and never-ending) daily tasks of raising kids.
Prepping dinner, doing the laundry, tidying up constant messes. He did it all.
Except, as he quickly informs his viewers, now he's doing it all on his own.
"My wife of 12 years left me and our two kids this morning," Chris' video caption read, as Reba McIntire's song "I'm a Survivor" played in the background.
All of a sudden, he's been thrust into the single parent life with no warning. And yet somehow, he's making it work.
"Her addiction was just too much to handle anymore," another caption read. "She said she would be right back …"
While tidying up the living room, Chris asks himself, "Were we too much of a burden for her?"
"I tried my best," he continued, before listing the various things he thought made his marriage a strong one.
Aside from their beautiful house and two amazing kids, the couple apparently had regular date nights and a solid support system from their family.
So what went wrong, you ask??
Target. Target went wrong.
(Or rather, Target went a little too right?)
Whatever you want to call it, his wife has now been lost in Target for more than two hours straight — and she doesn't appear to be coming back.
Honestly, though, can you really blame her? The sales are especially good right now!
Obviously, the whole video is satire and his wife, Melz, hasn't actually run away from her family. (In reality, her husband Chris actually posts videos like these all the time.)

But Melz has spent entirely too long in Target when she promised she wouldn't, and that is the most relatable thing ever.
Based on their comments, people were clearly amused by the whole thing.
"Target takes you as a P.O.W. and won't let you leave until you spend a minimum of $100!" wrote one TikToker.
"I swear I should buy stock in Target so [maybe] I could get some of that money back!" another person joked.
Some even left satirical comments of their own.
“It’s tough right now, but remember your kids need you," wrote one person. "She’ll realize one day what she gave up and regret it. #TargetIsAHomewrecker.”
"I've got two years clean from Target," someone else chimed in. "It's a fight every day."
Unfortunately, though, it's not a habit that's easy to beat.
According to the TikToker, his wife "relapsed a month ago."
At the same time, plenty of people admitted that they didn't realize it was a joke at first.
"Felt bad for you until I saw that ending!" one person said.
"I was hooked … til the sinker!" another commenter shared.
At least one person told the dad that he really ain't seen nothing yet, if Target is the only store his wife gets truly lost in. "Allow me to introduce her to HomeGoods!" wrote one woman, who apparently knows the unmatched allure of that store all too well.
(A warning to this hilarious dad: If that ever happens, you're straight-up doomed.)
