Ah, love. One day you're dating the love of your life, and the next he's engaged to your mom — wait, what? Unfortunately, that’s a true story for TikToker named Marisa, who goes by @MarisaKylie on the platform. In video that ended up getting "liked" more than half a million times, she shared that not only that her mom and her ex are engaged but also that now all three of them were living together. Tale as old as time, right?
With over 2000 comments, it is clear that this story was WILD, even for TikTok, so we have to get into it! We don't want to judge, but let's just say her mom isn't going to be up for a mother of the year trophy anytime soon!

The whole sordid story was retold in a series of videos on TikTok.
“Unfortunately 60 seconds isn't enough time to tell you how my mom ended up getting engaged to my ex-fiancé,” she said in the first video. So she told the whole story in four parts.
"I guess to cover bases — yes, he's my age,” she began. “We dated in high school and to make it even spicier, he moved in with us a couple of months after he and I started dating. I was 16, engaged, and he lived with me, my mom, and my stepdad.”
We don't love the idea of any 16 year old being engaged but this story gets worse!
It was coming up on Marisa and her ex’s three-year anniversary.
In June of that year, Marisa's mom and her stepdad decided to "split ways."
“And about a month later I decided to break up with him as well,” she said in a second video.
Marisa’s ex begged her to stay, but she was "over the relationship."
"I realized that I didn't want to be tied down for the rest of my life at 18," she added. "That was that."
Both she and her ex-boyfriend moved out of her mom's house, but little did she know that their story was far from over.

The thing was, her ex was still hanging out with her mom "like every day."
"I asked her all the time — why? Why are you still hanging out with my ex-boyfriend? Why are you doing that to me? That’s weird," she recalled in a third video.
"And her answer was always, 'Oh, he's my son and I love him and I'm going to hang out with him whether you want me to or not because you put him in my life and you don’t get to just take him out,'" she recalled.
No matter how much Marisa begged and pleaded, her mom wouldn’t give up the ex-boyfriend, and eventually Marisa stopped talking to her mom.
That continued until one night when her mom called her and admitted that "she was in fact dating him," she continued in the final video of her series.
"Then I really stopped talking to her for about a year."
Marisa has no idea what happened during the year that she and her mother didn’t speak, but she does know that eventually her ex moved back in with her mom.
Things took another turn after Marisa got pregnant with another ex's baby and couldn't stay here, "so I moved back in with my mom and she was still seeing him. She still is seeing him."
Marisa gave birth in mid-December of that year, and on Christmas Eve her mom called with some pretty groundbreaking news — they were engaged.
"So there’s the story," she said, wrapping up.
Obviously, the comment section had FEELINGS about the story.
"This is just so beyond the pale. I can’t believe you can tell this story so calmly," one commenter wrote.
"Bestie it sounds like you gotta move across the country and start a new life away from these bozos," another person advised.
"Baby we have to get you OUT of there," another commenter added.
We guess we can safely say that she won’t be attending their wedding.
