A Canadian teacher has some people turning their heads and others scratching them. Kayla Lemieuxâs size Z breasts are the talk of Toronto. Lemieux, who says she was born intersex, denies accusations that photos of a man about town are her and that, contrary to popular belief, she does not wear prosthetics. Lemieux claims that her giant breasts are due to a medical condition, but others think they are just being bamboozled.
The New York Post sat down with Lemieux to get the scoop on what is in her bra. She told the outlet that she has a medical condition, gigantomastia, often called macromastia or breast hypertrophy. Itâs true; she has fancy terminology but no formal diagnosis. Her breasts and the fanfare around them have caused significant issues at the school where she teaches, resulting in a total ban on photographing or videoing her at school, and now, she's been placed on leave. Lemieux just wants to be left alone.
Lemieux identified as a male for most of her life.
According to the NY Post, Lemieux lived as a man until she was 39. She says that most people think she is transgender, but that is not the case. She was born intersex. She is currently in âtransitionâ and began hormone therapy in 2021.
âIntersex people can have a mixture of those two different sets of chromosomes. It can be something they donât even know about. It can show up in other physical attributes at birth so it can be more obvious or less obvious, depending on the person,â Lemieux told the outlet.
She says her breasts developed as a result of hormone therapy.
Lemieux claims that her breasts took on their current form when she started hormone therapy. She also explains that we donât often see women with gigantomastia.
âItâs rare, thereâs no doubt about it. It affects women on a very rare basis, but in my case, I believe â and my doctor thinks â because I have XX chromosomes as well, that has something to do with it, and hormone sensitivity to estrogen has caused it,â she said.
When asked for proof, Lemieux reportedly had nothing to show.
When the NY Post asked for proof that her giant boobs are genuine, she couldn't provide any, but she denies the snaps many think are her dressed as a man.
A photographer for the NY Post took pictures of a man leaving Lemieuxâs apartment complex in mid-February that bore a âstriking resemblance to the teacher.â There was one noticeable difference: The man photographed was flat-chested. Lemieux says she knows him.
âI canât tell you who that is because I donât want to bring anyone else into this. I donât want that person being thrown all over the media, but it wasnât me,â Lemieux said.
She contends that she is always dressed like a woman when she leaves the house. The only time she looks any different is without her wig or makeup.
âThis is who I am. This is how I look. Youâve been talking to people in my building but what theyâre telling you is harsh and untrue. I am always going out looking the way I am,â she said.
As a teacher, Lemieuxâs appearance has caused her some trouble.
Lemieux began work as a shop teacher in September 2022 at Ontarioâs Oakville Trafalgar High School. Parents pleaded with the Halton District School Board to establish a dress code after seeing photos of Lemieux in tight clothing that clearly showed her nipples, the NY Post reported.
The school has reportedly been the center of drama and controversy and has even received bomb threats that many say are due to Lemieux and her appearance. The school enacted a dress code in January, that requires teachers to remain âappropriate and professionalâ in their appearance.
Lemieux told the NY Post she would follow the rules but doesnât think she has done anything wrong.
âThe narrative is, I look sexualized. That is a narrative that has been constructed,â she said. âPeople are not really, in my opinion, sexualized. People look the way they look, they canât help it. You should embrace the way you are, you should be confident in the person you are.â
She declined to comment on her prominent nipples.
Social media has gone crazy over Lemieux and her giant assets.
A quick scroll through Facebook, Twitter, or TikTok, and you'll see everyone is talking about the teacher, and they all have thoughts. Some praise her for being true to herself. Others think it is all for attention.
Administrators have placed Lemieux on leave beginning Tuesday, The Toronto Sun reported. The Halton District claims that the safety of the students is the highest priority and that the investigation is ongoing and says, âwe continue to support the teacher in partnership with [Ontario Secondary School Teacherâs Federation]."
