Secret rooms can be charming bonus areas in a home. The idea is that a small space is tucked away and seemingly undetectable. When someone opens a door, often disguised as something else, it reveals a cute reading nook or sometimes even an extra bedroom or play area.
But Noelle Pierce from Charlotte, North Carolina, recently shared images of a secret room inside her cousin’s new house that was anything but charming. Many folks on social media declared the kids’ playroom “creepy,” with some suggesting it looked like something straight out of a true-crime documentary.
Noelle Pierce's TikTok video of her cousin's 'creepy' kids' playroom has gone viral.
On May 14, Noelle shared a video via TikTok that has since gone viral. “Sleepovers will be at my house…,” she captioned the clip. Her update has since attracted more than 16.7 million views and over 1.2 million likes. And it isn’t difficult to see why.
She then revealed a secret room tucked away in a closet.
“My cousin just bought a new house, and I’m scared,” Noelle declared at the beginning of the video.
She started filming in a normal-looking bedroom with an average closet. But inside the closet was a small door about 3 feet above the floor that led to an attic-type space. The room featured flowers along the baseboard and butterfly and flower stickers on the white walls.
“I told her to padlock them because I think someone is living in their walls,” Noelle joked. “Tell me this isn’t the most terrifying thing you’ve ever seen.”

Some TikTok users thought the room looked perfectly fine.
“First time in an attic?” one person wrote.
Another TikTok user commented, “It’s actually the least scary hidden room I’ve ever seen,” to which the original poster replied, “It’s my first hidden room, cut me some slack. .”
“That’s freaking awesome!” yet another commenter declared, “As a kid that would be the best playroom ever!”
Others thought it looked like a true crime nightmare come true.
One person pointed out, “I feel like this is something you’d see on a crime documentary lol.”
Another TikTok user agreed, writing, “As a kid I would have loved this, as an adult my mind immediately goes to a situation you’d see on Criminal Minds .”
Meanwhile, someone else commented, “My true crime mind immediately went to someone was kidnapped and lived there and the two little doors was how they got food and water .”
Still others compared it to the 2014 Lifetime movie Flowers in the Attic.
Someone else wrote, “I’m holding my opinion until I see what’s behind the two other doors. Could go either way lol.”

In a follow-up video, Noelle revealed what was behind the two tiny doors.
For those curious about what was behind the two tiny doors inside the creepy playroom, Noelle posted a TikTok update.
“These are the doors everyone wanted to see. It is just storage, as everyone assumed. But again, this is so creepy,” she said while revealing an unfinished portion with fiberglass insulation exposed. “…If you look back there, you can see maybe it goes in other parts of the house. I don’t know. I don’t really want to know.”
