Woman Attempts To Kidnap 4-Year-Old at Airport After Offering To Help Calm Crying Boy

A woman is facing charges after allegedly trying to kidnap a 4-year-old at an airport after offering to help calm the crying boy. Alvina Omisiri Agba, 23, allegedly asked the boy’s mother if she could help soothe the upset child at roughly 4 a.m. September 2, 2025, at a checkpoint at Miami International Airport.

The mother agreed to allow Agba to hold the boy. Agba, however, allegedly got out of line while holding the child and started walking away, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office, per People.

After the mom started following Agba, the young woman allegedly sat on the floor with the boy. The mother asked her to give her son back, to which Agba reportedly responded, “No, this is my child,” and refused to hand over the boy, wrapping her arms and legs around him, People reported. When the mom tried taking her son back, Agba allegedly shoved her and grabbed the child’s leg.

That’s when a woman named Naylet Montano intervened. “In that moment, I realized the body was in danger. I grabbed him and ran,” Montano, who is also a mom, told CBS News Miami. “The woman on the ground got up and tried to take the boy back from me. I wouldn’t let her.”

She continued, “I ran behind the counter and crouched down to protect the boy. She tried to get under the counter.”

Agba allegedly followed Montano and insisted that she give her the boy. That’s when three men reportedly stood between the two women. Although Agba fled, police found her at another checkpoint, where she was arrested.

According to the arrest affidavit, per CBS News Miami, Agba claimed she wanted to take the boy to a wall with a rainbow before making a more disturbing claim. “She only did it because God told her to do it,” the report read.

Agba was charged with battery and interference with custody. She was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $3,500 bond.
