Woman Tricks Fiancé Into Killing His Lover & Her Family Before Dying in Murder-Suicide

An Illinois woman allegedly tricked her boyfriend into killing his lover, her husband, and two young children in an elaborate revenge scheme. Ermalinda Palomo allegedly convinced her fiancé, Nathaniel Huey Jr., that his workplace lover, Zoraida Bartolomei, was a mole targeting him and had to die so he could protect himself. Huey allegedly killed Bartolomei, her husband, Alberto Rolon, and their sons, Adriel and Diego, in September 2023, inside their Romeoville home, in a gruesome murder-suicide.

More than a year later, court documents obtained by several news outlets, including NBC 5, detail Palomo’s seemingly sinister actions. The woman reportedly drove her fiancé to the family’s home and waited for him to commit the crime. The couple fled the area and days later died in an apparent murder-suicide during a police chase.

Palomo seemed jealous of Bartolomei.

According to a more than 100-page police report, Palomo allegedly learned about Huey’s affair with Bartolomei and wanted to get revenge. The woman created multiple fake social media accounts to communicate with Huey and to encourage him to stay faithful.

“Ermalinda (acting as one of her fictional characters) frequently referenced Nathaniel’s relationship with Ermalinda. She would encourage Nathaniel to be faithful in his relationship, to stop speaking with other women, to treat Ermalinda nice, and to engage in sexual intimacy with Ermalinda,” the report reads.

Palomo allegedly tried to scare her fiancé.

Per the police report obtained by NBC 5, “Communications with Nathaniel eventually led Ermalinda to convince Nathaniel he was under constant surveillance by the organization and that the leaders questioned his loyalty and trustworthiness. Based on years of communication, Nathaniel’s response seems to indicate he fully believed the information being fed to him by Ermalinda, but did not know Ermalinda was the person he was communicating with.”

Palomo allegedly used the fake accounts to communicate and threaten Bartolomei and Rolon.

Palomo reportedly convinced Huey his lover was out to get him.

Through the fake social media accounts, the jealous fiancé allegedly convinced Huey that Bartolomei was a “mole” targeting him for the cartel. Huey reportedly began to plan the killings and attempted to make it look like a robbery.

As the report explains, “They researched the neighborhood to locate cameras, planned how to get in and out of the house, and learned the house behind Zoraida’s was vacant. “Palomo allegedly urged Huey Jr. to make the crime “appear to be a burglary committed by kids.”

Huey allegedly committed a horrific crime.

Per NBC 5, Huey shot and killed Rolon, Bartolomei, their sons, and the family’s dogs before fleeing the home. Police found the bodies during a welfare check after Rolon didn’t arrive at work and the family couldn’t get in touch with Bartolomei or the children. Police reported the family members were shot a total of 20 times.

Huey and Palomo allegedly fled.

The couple reportedly met with Huey’s mother at a Target, where he allegedly confessed to the killings. He and Palomo left the area and were found in Oklahoma a short time later. During a police pursuit, their lives came to a horrific end.

“When Police approached, the GMC fled. A short distance later, the GMC drifted to the center divider and crashed before coming to a stop. After the vehicle came to rest, a fire started near the driver compartment, possibly set by Nathaniel,” according to the report. “Nathaniel shot Ermalinda in the head killing her. He shot himself under his chin but that gunshot did not kill him so he shot himself again in the head. Both died.”
