Picking a baby name is one of the most fun and challenging parts of pregnancy. But what happens when one parent loves a name the other despises? Within most expectant couples, each partner gets a chance to veto a baby name they just absolutely could not give their child. Want to know what made some moms' reject list? So do we!
We asked several moms within the CafeMom community to share the names their baby daddies suggested that they just couldn't possibly abide. Whether these dads were picking a sports hero or a television fave, these moms were having none of it. For some, we totally get it. The names were just not quite right. Other suggestions, of course, were just downright hilarious.
The conversations where these guys' name picks came up had to be doozies. We can just hear one particular mom saying, "No, honey, we are not naming our baby girl after the world's scariest insect." Some things just shouldn't have to be said …
From names that sound suspiciously close to the name of his ex to words that aren't even actual names, take a look and see if any of these dad-approved baby names would've made the cut (or been kicked to the curb) in your house.
Diana
"He suggested Diana after Princess Diana … not even thinking about the fact that his ex is named Dianne and the two of us have hated each other since high school."

(Maybe this dad was a big Tom Sawyer or Huckleberry Hound fan?)
Sebastian vs. Talon
"He wanted Sebastian. I vetoed. I wanted Talon. He vetoed."
Penny

Dallas
"One of the names he suggested was Dallas. My hard rule is no states/cities/countries/street names, etc. My son's name was picked out long before he was born and before I even met his father. So nothing he suggested was happening anyway."
Desmond
"He wanted Desmond. I'm just not a fan."
