Cat & Jack clothing is one of the most popular lines Target has ever released. Available for both boys and girls, the products range in size, style, and price, making them ideal for parents trying to make clothes shopping for their kids as painless and inexpensive as possible. Unfortunately, the brand's success has hit a snag. Target is recalling 30,000 pairs of Cat & Jack girls' jeans because they've been hurting kids.
The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (USCPSC) announced the recall of 30,000 pairs Cat & Jack Girls' Star Studded Skinny Jeans on Wednesday. The report states that Topson Downs, the company that manufactures the jeans to be exclusively sold at Target, received several reports of the metal stars on the jeans detaching, causing cuts and lacerations to kids wearing them.

The metal stars are embellished on the bottom front of the jeans, decorating the shins and ankles. According to the USCPSC, there are six confirmed cases of the stars becoming unstitched from the jeans, and five of those reported cases resulted in the injury of the child wearing them. There is no word on whether or not those injuries were deemed serious by medical professionals.
The jeans were sold exclusively in Target stores online and nationwide from September 2017 through November 2017. They were previously available in sizes 4 through 18P and have a label that reads "Cat & Jack, Super Skinny."
Following the recall announcement, the USCPSC says anyone who owns the jeans should stop wearing them immediately and return them to Target to receive a full refund. Today reports the jeans retailed for $18 during their 2017 run in stores and online.
