Did you know that Mickey Mouse has a birthday? Of course he does! And to honor the mouse with the most, Disney has paired up with photographer Karen Marie of Belly Beautiful Portraits to re-create Mickey's most memorable looks using some of the tiniest models we've ever seen — newborns! Karen picked the most iconic adventures from Mickey's 90-year career and reenvisioned them for his smallest fans, and it's the sweetest thing you've ever seen.
Steamboat Willy: 1928
As a huge Disney fan, Karen explained that she made sure to pay close attention to the details when re-creating his most famous looks.
"A famous Walt Disney quote that really resonated with me while researching this project was, ‘I only hope that we never lose sight of one thing — that it was all started by a mouse,’” she told Babble.
The photographer, who is also a mom, said that she grew up watching Disney movies like The Little Mermaid, but now she enjoys keeping the tradition alive by watching these classic flicks with her kids. “For all of these [memories], I can thank Mickey Mouse," Karen said.
Working with the help of Sew Trendy Accessories and Off My Hooks, Karen started her series with this amazing re-creation of Mickey's first movie, Steamboat Willy. The movie not only marked Mickey's debut into the world of Disney but was also the first film to have synchronized sound. So sweet!
Brave Little Tailor: 1938
Mickey's 1938 film follows the tale of a peasant tailor who is asked to fight a giant after a rumor goes around that he's more of a hero than he really is. From his hat to his tiny, tailor's kit, Karen completely nails this look.
Fantasia -- The Sorcerer's Apprentice: 1940
Just try and look at this photo and not hear the thumping music that accompanied Mickey in one of his most famous roles. Mickey stars as the sorcerer's apprentice for Yen Sid, who tried to use his master's spells but can't keep the magic under control. And we have to say, this little guy is a perfect fit!
Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: 2006
Look how cute this little chunk looks in Mickey's most recent role to date. Those tiny ears and those overalls made to look like Mickey's famous red shorts? We're head over heels for this adorable guy.
