Moms Hilariously ‘Reinterpret’ School’s ‘College Day’ & Send Kids Dressed Up as Sorority Girls

Parents can have love-hate feelings on dress-up days at their kids' schools. From pajama day to crazy hair day and of course Halloween, theme days are always fun days to be creative and do something unexpected. That is why one family from Florida is getting a lot of attention online after a mom's hilariously take on a "career day" at her kids' elementary school who sent them to school in full Greek life regalia.

The hilarious photos were shared by one of the girls' aunts, who said her sister had a bit of a misunderstanding with the assignment.

According to Twitter user @Seilynx3, her niece was meant to dress up in college gear — say a Florida Gators hat or a Florida State University jersey — but that's not what her niece and her BFF did.

Instead, the poster's niece and two of her friends decided to do an interpretation of the theme ...

"My niece had college day at school today and I don’t think my sister understood that she had to dress her up with college gear … instead she dressed her and her friends as a sorority girl and frat boy lmaoooooooo," wrote the aunt.

CafeMom spoke with one of the girls' mothers, who told us a little about how they came up with the funny costumes. Jennifer Gotor says the theme was "career day" and the girl's teacher texted with her to clarify that meant coming to school dressed for the career you want or the college you wanted to attend in the future. "Their teacher had told me why don’t we dress the girls up as sorority girls?" Gotor says. "So we did."

And let's face it, these costumes are spot-on spoofs of typical Greek life students.

The girls came dressed like members of the  Zeta Tau Alpha sorority. The outfits came with Starbucks cups in their hands (pumpkin spice lattes anyone?!), adorable sunglasses, and a cellphone, which no sorority sister would be complete without. The boy pal came dressed to party too in his blue University of Florida T-shirt, "FRAT" hat, and the perfect Greek detail: a pair of red solo cups.

Online people were cracking up at these tiny, sorority sisters.

The post has received more than 20,000 likes online and most people agree: These pledges are in!

"Okay but these are the cutest ZTAs I’ve ever seen I’m a proud sister," one person wrote.

"Why would kids so young even have college gear?" commented another person. "This is hilarious."

"LMFAOOOOOO IM LIVING FOR THE HEART GLASSES," another user added.
