Mom Caught Driving With 2 Girls in a Pool on Her Car Roof to ‘Hold it Down’

A mother from Dixon, Illinois, has been arrested all due to an alleged terrible decision that put her children's lives in danger. According to police, 49-year-old Jennifer A. Janus Yeager was pulled over Tuesday after residents noticed the mom had allowed her two daughters to sit in an inflatable pool on the roof of her vehicle as she drove the car home.

Police explained that the unusual situation happened after she went to a friend's house to blow up the inflatable pool but made a terrible decision on how to get it home.

WQAD reported that Yeager was driving westbound on Ill. 2 when she was nabbed by authorities. The mom had driven to a friend's house across town to fill up the inflatable pool, but she needed a way to get the pool home on the roof of her car without it blowing off.

That's why the mom allegedly decided to place her two daughters inside the pool on top of her vehicle, to hold it down, as she made the trip back home.

Her plan was foiled when concerned residents noticed her driving with her kids on the roof, hanging out in a pool, and reported her to police.

WREX reported that a concerned citizen reported Yeager to police at 3:07 p.m. They found the mom as she was driving with the girls still on top of her car.

She was placed under arrest on two counts of endangering the health or life of a child and two counts of reckless conduct. She was also cited for failure to secure a passenger of 8 and under the age of 16.

The mom was taken to the Dixon Police Department, but she posted bond and was released.
