Woman’s Cookie Monster Door Is Giving Trick-or-Treaters a Laugh — Instead of a Fright

To say that Lisa Boll really gets into the Halloween spirit would be a bit of an understatement. The York Township, Pennsylvania, mom recently created such an impressive doorway display on the front of her home that it's capturing attention far beyond her own neighborhood.

Using overgrown vines, a bit of blue spray paint, and a whole lotta imagination, Boll gave her doorway a 'Sesame Street' makeover.

With styrofoam for the eyes and a big chocolate chip cookie to complete the look (fake, of course), Boll literally made Cookie Monster come to life, right on her doorstep.

And neighbors are LOVING it.

Boll says parents have been pulling over to take photos of the elaborate display for days (which proves her house will be a big hit come Halloween).

"It was surprising how many people get a big kick out of it, so it's good. It's fun for Halloween and it's not a horror thing so it appeals to kids under the age of 3; it's not scary," Boll told ABC 7.

It certainly isn't scary. If anything, the lighthearted display has elicited smiles and laughter.

And it's pretty good timing too. Not only is Halloween coming up, but November 9 marks the 50th season of Sesame Street! (Considering what a big fan Boll is of the classic kids' show, we're willing to bet she might've known about its significance before transforming her doorway.)

On Facebook, photos of the elaborate doorway display have been making the rounds and racking up applause.

"Why can’t I be this crafty?!" wrote one woman. "This is amazing! Props to this family for using an amazing talent to make Halloween even more fun."

"This is great for our little trick or treaters!!" added another.

"Hand out little packs of Chips Ahoy!" another person suggested.

(Honestly, that's not a bad idea!)
