Sonogram photos are tricky things — those black-and-white ones taken early on, when features aren't easily distinguishable. But one woman from San Diego claims she saw quite the sight when looking at an ultrasound image of her soon-to-be daughter. Believe it or not, Shantel Carillo says she saw the face of her father on her daughter's sonogram pic, and no one can convince her otherwise.
According to ABC 7, the mother says the image shows a clear outline of her father's face -- including his cheeks and lips.
She even swears she can make out the shape of a hat he used to wear!
And she's not the only one who's seen it, either. It actually wasn't until posting the ultrasound image on social media that other family members started pointing it out to her.
"Everyone's like: 'Look it looks like someone is kissing your baby,'" Carillo told KHQ.
When she got a closer look, she could see just who that "someone" was.
For Carillo and her family, the image isn't creepy or even "weird" -- instead, it's like some kind of message from up above.
That's because her father, Charles (aka "Chuck"), passed away suddenly in 2016 and isn't earthside to see his little grandbaby grow up. But something about this sweet image is almost a special little reminder that he's looking down on his daughter and her children with love.
"It’s nice to look at and it's a great story to tell," Carrillo said of the photos.
"I found a picture of my dad looking at my first daughter like the same way he was looking at the ultrasound and it's like dead on," Carillo said.
"It has his nose, his little chubby cheeks, his little double chin, and my dad wore a hat like all the time," she continued. "It just has like the bill of his hat and the lips are just like touching hers like so perfectly."
If nothing else, seeing her dad in these images is a comfort for Carillo, who is expecting her second child, a girl, in April 2020.
“I think my dad would just be over the moon about it, so I feel like, you know, he’s including himself in this someway, somehow," she shared.
