One night, a tired dad went to grab his baby from her crib. Even though he does this often, it was “too dark” and a “little too early” that time, and the dad made a simple mistake: He picked up his baby upside down. The parents’ baby cam captured footage of the incident, and people can’t stop laughing at the clip. The baby’s mom shared the footage on social media.
“When it’s too dark and little too early,” the mom, whose name is Taylor, wrote over the clip on TikTok. The footage shows the baby in her crib as her dad walks in the room to pick her up. When he reaches into the crib, he accidentally grabs her by her legs. People who watched the clip couldn’t stop laughing at the baby’s reaction.
“The baby is like WEEEE ๐๐” one person joked. A second person wrote, “The babies face kills me ๐๐๐๐๐.”
A few others guessed what the baby might’ve been thinking during that moment. “FATHER HELP!” one person suggested, based on the baby’s facial expression. Another person suspected that “she’s thinking, ‘This is my emergency contact?'”
The baby’s mom explained what happened in more detail.
Speaking to Newsweek, Taylor explained that their “daughter always tends to wake up at least one time at night, and we always go grab her to calm her down.” On that particular night, however, “the sleep deprivation won,” she told the magazine.
She only found out what had happened that night when she watched the baby cam footage the following evening. The mom told Newsweek that she “died laughing” when she saw the footage.

The clip has been viewed more than 2.6 million times. Based on people’s reaction to the footage, it appears the dad’s mistake is a pretty common one.
“Iโve done that before and I was so sleep deprived I panicked and thought my sons head fell off ๐ ,” one parent admitted in the comments.
A second parent revealed that they “have done this with all 5 of our kids at some point” and could imagine what was likely going through the dad’s mind when it happened. “Itโs such a confusing couple of seconds when you put them on your shoulder upside down,” the parent described. “Like, you know something is wrong, but donโt know what.”
Taylor confirmed that her partner felt the same way. “Thatโs exactly what he said, he was so disoriented ๐,” she wrote back.
Even those who haven’t had a similar experience really appreciated the relatable parenting moment. “Omg this is sending me. ๐๐ The music. The babyโs arms and face. Simply a cinematic masterpiece. ๐๐๐๐,” one person commented.
