A baby’s first birthday is a significant milestone, albeit more of a big deal for parents than babies because they don’t really understand what is happening. Nevertheless, many parents go all out for their baby’s first birthday party. There’s often a theme, decorations, lots of guests, and of course, serenading the guest of honor before the little one digs into that delicious birthday cake.
Collin and Monica Pearson planned an epic first birthday for their little boy. The parents thought they’d hit a home run with their Sandlot-themed party for little Teddy. They didn’t miss a detail from perfect baseball-inspired food to pics featuring Teddy’s precious mug and Collin’s Great Hambino shirt. It was the perfect setup for a grand slam when they sang "Happy Birthday," but the parents totally struck out. Teddy was not ready to bat.

The music started, and Teddy tried to disappear.
The sweet guy was overcome by the crowd and put his head face first onto his high chair tray. Teddy’s mom created a TikTok account, @schmoz_p, just to share the video, which has been viewed 18.8 million times. Monica and Collin laughed at the pretty hilarious moment.
“I feel like he’s just a grumpy old man who’s been reincarnated,” Teddy's mom told WSAZ. “He’s just got this very unimpressed look on his face at all times,” dad Collin agreed.
Folks thought Teddy was hilarious.
Even though he’d only been around this earth for a year, Teddy looked like he’d seen some things. There were lots of jokes.
This person thought he was thinking, “NOT AGAIN” as if he was in endless life loop. ”
Or maybe, “He’s like ‘dam I’m getting old ‘!” one person suggested.
Maybe there is such a thing as reincarnation, as this person surmised. “He’s lived in this world before ,” the person wrote.
Teddy, you’re not alone, friend.
So many people shared his sentiment.
“Exactly how I feel every year on my bday ,” one person commented.
“Me too, Teddy. Me. Too. ,” another person wrote.
This commenter felt it decades later: “Me when I turned 35 ,” the person joked.

Thankfully, Teddy did perk up.
TikTokers wanted an update, and Monica came in hot. She shared another video of Teddy having a taste of his cake without all of the singing. There is still a bit of encouragement from his guests, whom he doesn’t seem to be thrilled with, as he tastes the icing.
Someone wrote, “I love how he’s judging the lady really hard who’s yelling “GET IT TEDDY GET IT” .”
His mom replied, “Hahahaha he’s like ‘leave me alone! Let me dig into my cake at my own pace!’”
Teddy, we get it. Having too many eyes on you is no fun. Next time, just tell them to back off and say, “You’re killing me, Smalls!” That way you can enjoy your cake in peace.
