Birth Mom Shares Tear-Jerking Video of Last Hour Before Giving Her Son Up for Adoption

When a woman finds out she is pregnant, she is often flooded with emotions. She can be excited, scared, and overwhelmed. Bringing a new life into the world can be daunting, and sometimes it's just not possible for her to care for the baby the way she wants to. She may even be faced with the most heartbreaking decision of her life.

Hannah Mongie was thrilled when she found out she was pregnant in 2015, and so was her boyfriend, Kaden. But, her excitement was short-lived. Her boyfriend unexpectedly died, and she decided to give up her baby boy, Taggart Kaden Marsh, for adoption.

Her decision was a challenging one.

Hannah shared a video on YouTube of her final moments with her son before placing him into the arms of his adoptive parents. She says through tears, "This is for you, Tagg. I made this video so you know how much I love you."

She tells her son his story: She and Kaden loved him very much, but when his dad died, she knew she wanted to give him a different life.

Hannah found the perfect family for her son.

In the video, she says, "You were my last piece of Kaden. One day, I woke up, and I just knew that you were supposed to be with someone else."

Hannah chose Brian and Emily Marsh as her son's adoptive family and told the baby that Emily had become one of her best friends.

It was the right decision for Hannah and her son.

Giving a baby up for adoption is never an easy choice, but Hannah was sure it was the best decision she could make for Tagg.

"I made this decision purely out of love. Because I knew what you needed. Which is a mommy and a daddy," she says.

Hannah wanted her son to see and hear her love for him.

Instead of a letter, she chose a video journal of sorts so her son can look back when he is older and feel the emotions.

"I hope anyone who watches this will be able to gain a new perspective on what the birth mom goes through when she places her child for adoption. It is the FARTHEST thing from a heartless act. It shows she definition of love. To love someone this much is to give away your happiness for them," she wrote in the video's caption.

She still sees her son today.

Hannah posted on Instagram for Tagg's birthday in March.

"Happiest 8th Birthday to my forever love. Every birthday since you were born, the sun has shone, the sky has been clear, and it's been a warm, beautiful day outside," she wrote. "The day that gives me hope again. I love you forever, my boy."
